I would agree with the drone option, the majority of my sales are aerial views. I would say that you dont want a cheap drone, I have a mavic pro and even that the images are very soft at the corners and can range from very noisey to noisey, with keeping ISO at 100, also tend to only use F5.6 or F5.0.......DXO raw convertor does a good job at removing the noise.....I only use it for still images.

At the moment the exported files are too small to be accepted but once larger can can be produced i think alit of stock agencies will disappear due to customers subscribing to AI software instead of stock agencies, no need to stock agencies anymore.

53
Bit of a waste of time creating AI images until they can export files larger enough to be accepted by a stock agency

54
Until there is AI software which produces images large enough to upload to a stock agency there not much point to them

I haven't used it as 1024 pixels appears far too small to upload to a stock agency so not much point to it......

iStockPhoto.com / Re: December earnings statement are in
« on: January 23, 2023, 14:28 »
December 2023 RPD was $1.21 with 127 image sales........

I had a look at the Mini 3 and Air 2S to replace my aging Mavic Pro 2 but decided on keeping the older tech but bigger sensor. Even the Mavic Pro 2 raw files have a fair amount of noise in the shadows - I find processing the raw files using DXO 6 and its noise reduction Deep Prime XD does an excellent job to make files look great free of noise (takes around 15mins to process per file on a 2020 macbook pro).

Anyone reached level 2 yet?  :D
Im at 51 so far......

You don't have to stop once a sky is changed, you can then add some birds, aeroplane.......

61
You can also double your uploads by uploading an image with the original sky and an edited version with a different sky. Never had an issue nit having both accepted. Changing a sky takes seconds on Luminar. You can use their stock skies or just use your own sky, handy to have a collections of your own skies for this.

Who would actually go out their way to shoot something specific they are told to for stock money? I think its far more productive to shoot 100 road signs in a shorter time and make more money from that, than to follow a lead given by iStock or any micro stock company

Shutterstock made me more money this month than Adobe, doesn't happen often, usually only when you get a $30 photo sale....SS $130 Adobe 121 and iStock $85, Alamy 40, all the rest were pennies......ref SS rejections I try to avoid uploading at weekends, AI rejections seem to be at full force on a sat or sun, so upload on a Monday and seems much better....

April $160 and May $80.....I don't think you can compare months as buyers are not looking for the same type or number of images each month

My iStock earning is 3 x SS and Adobe in March, most the money is from subscription based sales.

My SS is down 65% this year and iStock usually my best earner is down 30% while Adobe has doubled.

Just ensure your expenses outweigh any earnings and therefore pay no tax

I actually made more money on level 1 on first couples months of the year than I have on level 4 at later part of the year. It is just luck of the draw who buys what, levels don't really help to a big extent at all, I certainly still have as many 10 cent sales on level 4.

Started getting this issue again asking for the new api key. Using the old one just gives an error "Parse error, unable to find authentication form" . How do I solve this?

This is the new key, deactivate and add this and re-verify and it will work.....

I still find istock brings in the most money then Shutterstock, followed by Adobe. I just look at the end of month earnings not individual sale values. You will still get loads of 10 cent sales on Shutterstock at Level 6.
Don't see the point of stopping to upload to any agency myself as I use Microstock Plus uploader, my weekly uploading takes 20mins whether I upload to one agency or 50 agencies. Never create new keywords etc as just copy paste from previous photos.
