I think there is a flaw in your theory. Most serious microstock buyers don't use Google to search for an image to buy. They use their favorite agency. In fact, most of the big advertising agencies have contracts with Shutterstock, iStock, Dreamstime, etc. The search results for an image within the agency, doesn't involve Google.

I sent contact support and screenshots that DPC IS OFF!

It looks like Fotolia has just removed the Opt Out DPC box from the preferences section of My Profile.

Oops! looked in the  wrong place.

Remember this?  Fotolia D-Day (Deactivation Day) - May 1, 2014

It was a 64 page thread.

55
Brought up the problem on the Fotolia Forum. Maybe we can get a buzz going.

56
Same here! Images uploaded to Fotolia last week are showing up On DPC, even though I opted out over a year ago. I contacted them asking if I should delete my portfolio until it is corrected.

57
I seems my whole portfolio is there, including images that I uploaded only last week. What is this?

if you give yourself away for free. you become like the class-slut who gives herself away free".

I object to the word slut. it reeks of Misogyny. In this day and age, women are just as free to express their sexuality as men.

When I look at your image on the site, I see this message:

Based on the keywords you have provided, we will index your image with additional related keywords, shown below.

Fair enough. I don't think the contributors can see that message. That's where the confusion comes in. We think that since we can't see the main Keyword in the search result, it's not there. Good to know it is!

Here's an illustration to how infuriating and random a main Keyword omission can be. While doing a search for "Wood Barrel Isolated", I see that my upload from 2006 never shows up, because the Main Keyword "barrel" has been stripped by Veer.  Other images that have the word barrel show up.

The Keywords in the uploaded meta data were: Barrel, Wine, Gunpowder, Rum, Container, Keg, Wood, Old, Cellar, Lager, Beer, Storage, Cask, vintage, oak, empty, hoop, fermentation, macro, isolated, isolated on white, closeup, object, nobody, white background, cut out, studio shot, single object, clipping path

The Keywords that are included with my meta data are: sugar; bowl; glass; food; granules; crystals; sweet; white; isolated; condiment; dishware; transparent; container; clear; granulated; dispenser; macro; isolated; isolated on white; closeup; object; nobody; white background; cut out; studio shot; single object; ingredient; clipping path

These Keywords made it through all the other stock sites this file was uploaded to. I don't know why they were changed on Veer.

None of my photos have ever used the Keywords: sacred, fluffy, portraits, nests, indoors, or shells.

Welcome! You are a gifted portrait photographer. That doesn't always translate well to microstock. You probably need to figure out how to put your models into everyday situations.
Keywording is more cut and paste, than typing. Here are a couple of helpful links:

Composition sucks. Who cares about the wood boards. Show more of the subject. Your lighting is a little on the boring side. Try decreasing the brightness on one side, a little, to enhance the roundness of the object. I usually have my backlight the brightest, the left light less bright, and the right light even less than that. But then of course, lighting is subjective.

Just discovered the keyword stripping. Seems really random :-\  Someone talking about shooting themself in the foot..........

So glad I saw this thread. I found over 100 of my files with the main keyword missing. Have no idea why they would remove the main keyword and in some instances create their own substitution! I emailed them the complete list.

Here is the worst offender, with none of these keywords included in the uploaded meta data:

Not interested in uploading there until they resolve the Watermark issue. They don't seem to put a priority in preventing theft. Even the the lowest microstock agencies get this right, from the day they start.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Who is our customer?

Having worked with ad agencies for 25 years, I see how they use microstock. Initially, they buy cheap versions to use in comps to present their projects. Then they would contract me to shoot something very similar. As cost cuts became more important, they would just start using hi-res microstock images and eliminate the photoshoot. Many times I would end up using microstock photos for my project because I couldn't find the subject matter to shoot myself. (especially food or plants that were out of season, or not available in the US)
I shoot isolations, in full focus, that can easily be stripped into projects. I try to imagine how an art director would use my isolated image in their project. That's how I made a good living for years, taking various images, and assembling them in Photoshop, to match an art director's comp.

The new FTP server is up and running now.  For the next little while we're only going to be submitting images on the weekends, but we have ample reviewing resources so we expect all files to be reviewed and online before the end of the week.

If you have photos you'd like to upload, now is a great time to do so.

Thanks to all for bearing with us while our old FTP server was in poor shape.  It took over 3 million files in its short career, but has now been put out to pasture.

Some contributors still have some files that weren't submitted, as you can seen in the last few forum posts above.  These were supposed to have all gone through by two weeks ago, but doing it all at once as we did overloaded the servers and some submissions timed out.  Over the next few weeks I'll be periodically submitting all contributor brands again, but if you know you have unsubmitted files, please feel free to email me directly and I'll put you at the top of the list.

We'll have a contributor newsletter going out next week with a few updates.  We also have some very big news planned for release in May, so stay tuned.

Well, I can't connect using the new configuration. Anybody else having problems?

Payout happens automatically once each month. If your balance is over your threshold, you'll receive payment in the first week of next month.

Wow! Canva has just about caught up reviewing my entire portfolio, including submissions from late last week. 100 approved today alone.
Good job Canva!  :)

"However days of editing each photo is taking its toll on my mouse hand."

I use a tablet, (no toll taken). I found that I would spend more time  correcting the problems from shoot to shoot, trying to achieve a white background, than it would take to mask it off with the pen tool. That's my tool of choice, plus you can save the clipping path.a good selling point. My other alternative, on rough edges, is to use the Quick Mask tool and then modify it with the Mask Edge.  I'm fast, and I have gotten quite good at it.

It sounds like you are upset because you didn't read the terms of agreement before you started uploading there.
