I'm in Ontario not Quebec but I'm guessing the tax laws are similar, if you are referring to sales taxes then no you don't pay that because it is the microstock agency that is selling your images not you, you are only receiving a royalty from them. Your royalty is part of your total income that you report on your tax return.

Why should that be a problem? You report the money you make in microstock as income on your tax return.

Why are icons being paid less? $1 dollar isn't much of an incentive to put it in the free section.

What determines how much you get paid for each selected image? The banner in my dashboard says I can get up to $5 per image but the email I received says I would get $1 for each selected image.
Oops, sorry didn't see that last post. Thanks for the clarification.

Why does Adobe think my uploaded PNG file is ai generated? It is not, it was made in Inkscape. It's sitting in review with a message reminding me to select the generated with ai checkbox
Are you referencing the yellow bar in the contributor portal that says "If you submit Generative AI images you must select the checkbox"?
If so, that isn't targeted to you specifically and is not triggered by your PNG file. That message is visible to all contributors upon upload, regardless of asset type.
Thanks for the question,
Mat
Yes the yellow bar is what I was referring to, but it was only the PNG image that had the ai generative checkbox option when I was submitting the file, the other files I submitted before and since didn't have that checkbox available. I'm guessing it's because they were vector files?

Wow, that long? It used to take only several days.

I have a very small portfolio at adobe with only one or two sales a month but since my earnings have reached almost the payout threshold sales have completely stopped and the images I'm uploading are sitting in review for I don't know how long. And after uploading a transparent PNG file which was created in Inskscape I have a message tacked in the review section that says I must select checkbox for generative AI images. I have no ai generated images so why am I getting this message? Could that message be why my images are stuck in review. It's the first time I uploaded a transparent PNG, all my other uploads are EPS and a few SVGs

14, 15, 16, 17,19 and 21 are real, the rest are AI

By the way, we can now get paid in other currencies than USD, at much more reasonable conversion rates than Paypal's!
Yeah that's what I found out when I recently requested payout to paypal. It would be so nice if other sites allowed us to choose our currency

Just got notice that the payment was deposited into my paypal account

Okay, thanks. Is it worth uploading vectors there?
If they pay what they owe, yeah, for most downloads there I get $1 or more, unlike other places that get me a few cents per download most of the time.

How long does it take for your money to be deposited into paypal? I requested payment on the 12th and still nothing.

How do you join a twitter group? I was thinking of signing up with twitter to promote my POD art but am totally clueless about social media

For the first time I'm about to request payment by Paypal and I was surprised that Canstockphoto is letting me choose the currency. So would it be of more advantage to me to ask for CAD instead of USD since I'm in Canada? Would Paypal still charge me if the money was in CAD and I withdrew it from paypal?

I wouldn't bother with canstock, they seem to pick and choose who they will pay. I requested payment July 19 and I still don't have it. When asked about it they said a check was sent Sept.2 so contact the post office because they don't control the mail. Now that's what I call a professional reply from a professional company

Steve Heap writes about this lots. I don't promote too much of my POD port as he does.

Hey Brasilnut thanks for that link, the guy has a load of informative stuff, especially on using social media, something I have wanted to do to promote my art but have no idea how, my attempt at blogging makes me feel like I'm talking to myself

Only makes sense to advertise Print on Demand ports, imo
Why do you say that?

Yes they do sell. I sell clipart on microstock sites. I also sell my digital art on POD sites like zazzle.

I think search results vary from person to person. When I googled "stock footage" pond5 came up as the 4th ad from the top. In the organic section shutterstock was just below pexels. Also on the first page was istock, envato, pixabay and vimeo

I'm starting to get sales more often at canstock than at dreamstime, and more money per download than the .35 cents I get at DT on most downloads

More specifically, you need to state that they are "copyright" royalties because not all royalties fall under the treaty.
