Add that the reason you meet the conditions is because  income received are "copyright royalties for the use of artistic work"

Dreamstime.com / Re: Im sorry about Dreamstime
« on: August 27, 2021, 09:11 »
I am not sorry about them.
Very unprofessional site. After revealing real contributor name, without any notice for artists, I deleted my account.

What? Real name is visible on the web?

 :o

Yup. You can read about it here.

Dreamstimes Identity Crisis

And what about Dreamstime now? Have they overcome their crisis?
I looked at some profiles of contributors and saw that some used a pseudonym.
Has the requirement to use a real name been lifted?

After causing quite a storm Dreamstime did reverse their decision and said, We still believe a public profile gives more credibility to your images but we will respect your choice regarding the confidentiality of your profile.

Looking back to the OP of this old thread, what does that mean? They respect what confidentiality? Or is there some choice?

Doesn't seem very private or confidential to me?

The contributor probably didn't edited their profile. You have the choice of what info is made visible to the public including your real name or your username

I'm on Canstockphoto and Dreamstime, it took  6 years on both sites to reach $100. I made that within a year at Creative Fabrica. They have a nondisclosure  agreement on sign up so I can't be specific. The earnings have come from referrals, subscription sharing and sales of my own pics . The first year most of the earnings came from referrals on  a POD site forum, but since then most earnings have accumulated from subscription sharing.

Agreed, a lot of the stuff there is priced low, but the way I look at it, setting a $4 price on a pic and making $2 from it is better than getting .38 or lower from a higher priced pic on microstock, plus I'm in control of the price. Yeah,  earnings will probably go down as more contributors join CF but until then I think it is a nice alternative to microstock

One of the reasons that I like them is that they offer a POD license which you can ether enable or disable. Sales with a POD license earn you more. And what I really like about them is that you set your own price on your images. If you get sales at CF you're not going to earn pennies like at the mircostock sites that take most of earnings, at CF you you earn half on your sales  and 75% percent if you make the sale through your referral ID. Creative Fabrica treats their contributors very fairly and generously in my opinion, unlike microstock agencies.

55
I've been uploading there the past couple of days and haven't noticed any problem

56
You don't need to buy anything there to list. I've made more money with Creative Fabrica than I made on the two microstock sites I'm on combined, and I haven't even sold that much there. Subscription sales are shared with all the contributors so for someone like me who gets occasional sales it's well worth it.

Try Zazzle instead. They don't charge to set up a shop. The seller shops at cafepress don't work properly and are outdated and Cafepress is not doing anything to fix them yet they charge money for them.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Canstock payment ?
« on: April 12, 2021, 14:33 »
If they have a problem issuing checks then they shouldn't have them as an option. It is unacceptable to wait several months for payment after requesting it regardless of whether or not it's a check. And it is equally unacceptable that questions about money owed go unanswered. It makes them look unprofessional and like they have no intention of paying.

Keep asking for your money and if you get no result report them to a consumer agency like the BBB or something like that.

Canstockphoto pays in US currency. There's a saying, if you don't ask you don't get. Sometimes you can get banks to waive their fees, especially if you've been with them for years. Telling them that you'll take your business elsewhere won't hurt either.

Nearly 2 months after requesting a check payout I finally got it last week.
Yes this happened to me 10 years ago or so....Never ask for a check. It will take lots of time. Not only did it take a couple of months for me to get check, but worse because  Canstock is based in Canada my bank charged me 200 bucks to cash check as I am in  USA.... Always do PayPal or some form like that....
Wow, your bank charged you $200 to cash a Canadian check!? Maybe you should look for another bank. I'm in Canada so I didn't get charged but I also receive checks from the US and my bank doesn't take anything to cash them.

CanStockPhoto.com / Processing Time For Payment
« on: October 31, 2020, 09:25 »
Can anyone tell me how long it takes to process a payment request for a check? For the first time I reached the payout threshold for a check, I requested payment on Sept.28 but the check has not come. I opened a support ticket on Oct.27 to ask why I haven't received the check and was told it's because my payment wasn't processed yet. That is the only reply I got from them and now they are not answering me either through the support ticket or through email.

63
Just wondering if you did get your money? I requested a payout Sept.28 and still have not received payment, they initially answered my support ticket saying that my payment has not been processed yet but have since ignored me when I wanted further clarification.

Print on Demand Forum / Re: POD Sites in 2020?

I would suggest Zazzle, they are one of the biggest PODs sites with a lot of marketing exposure though I don't know how well photography does there.

Hmm, so does posting to this thread qualify as one post?
