72% of smartphone owners want mobile-friendly sites

Might be an interesting read for those who sell their photos direct as well.

Think about it. It might just bring you more sales. You can use it as marketing ploy on your site as well. Mobile website, easy to navigate, pick the photo, click the pay button, and download the photo straight to your mobile to use as background or whatever.

I'm pretty sure some microstock agencies did this years ago already.

I vaguely remember Fotolia announcing something like that. I think Depositphotos is offering that as well and others.

Whoops, that line completely slipped my eyes.

I'm not sure how hard/easy it is to create a mobile site.

Hostgator offers tools to "convert" your site to mobile access. Haven't tried it yet but will look into it.

I dont know how much effort or costs it takes to prepare a stock site for mobile. But I think its sensible to at least check it out. If it can generate more sales and its feasible, why not.
