Advertising your site. Ideas?

(1/1)

Randomway:
Hi everyone.

Like a lot of you, I've got my site up and running. (There are a lot of really nice sites up!)

I was wondering what everyone is doing for advertising?

Right now I'm advertising on a blog and google adwords. I'm planning to try some graphic design magazine sites next. I haven't started making sales yet and am looking for promotion ideas.

What have you tried so far?

ppdd:
Sort of depends on how much traffic. You could just put up referral banners that look like ads. Buysellads.com is a neat system. AdSense can work ok, again depending on traffic. You may want to sell ads directly as well. Text links can be sold to people looking for an SEO boost, but not much click traffic.

I've never advertised and still get about 2000 visits per month. My problem is that I am not monetizing the traffic in any way  :(

Larry:
I use Google Adwords with various specific ads pointed at various collections, which I post separately. So if they are interested in the area where your photo is taken, that collection will be displayed.  So they don't have to find it.

I am thinking of creating a facebook account to keep a network for my own images library too.. I don't think we can create a usual account? i saw the 'create a page' feature for facebook, there are options like local business, company, brand and etc, total 6 options. Which is more appropriate to promote a stock images site?
