In particular - why $ 3 a little, and $ 0.3 for a subscribed  well  ?

Your greatest challenge is to find the buyers, not the right price point.
When someone finally finds you and likes the image, a price difference between $3.00 and $5.00 won't stop him from buying.
If you can get from the buyer $5.00 rather than $3.00, you can invest that extra profit (of course, multiplied over many images) for advertising or for hiring a model.

How do you find using CMSaccount?  Is it easy to bulk edit photos and upload photos?

I'm currently selling with photodeck and it is a bit pricy for how few sales I get.  I think I'd rather use a self hosted system like cmsaccount or ktools (if they would ever release the latest version with better design)

Leaf, Ktools v4 has been released - they're on v4.0.8 http://ktools.net/photostore/

It's so much more polished than the cmsaccount script.

I was planning this site for themselves and their friends.
Then I checked out all the functions and have the opportunity to take up more disk space for files. And I decided - why not

doesnt look like a proper way to announce a new agency but thats up to your client, that said there is nothing talking about royalties % and such

"doesn't look like a proper way to announce a new agency"
It so happened. I do not dare call the site for the friends - Microstock NEW .
I'm sorry - I use auto-translation.
I did not understand the second part of the message

ah I see! what I am saying is that when somebody open a new agency, they should annouce it, not the way you have done, they need also to tell us a little about their background and what will be our royalties.. very weird you aren't understanding once you have pictures in microstock agencies  ::)

I must be slow today because this took me a bit. It hit me like a joke grenade. Very punny.

Everything was planned as the site for one or more photographers.
You can consider this as a site-site functions of the agency.
(I understand that it resembles a little bit pregnant)
For a larger view, I have very few answers
But some of the questions I can answer

I agree but what for? not even small/new agencies can compete with top agencies, how can us alone or even a few selected contributors open an agency and succeed?

we have many examples of that situation being reported in this forum, only a few exceptions get to another level

Admittedly, not my best writing, but look at the material I'm working with.
It's only Tuesday, by end of the week I should get better.

My second advice to you for today is to use online dictionary. Doesn't take more time than to post a question on forum.
I'm not native English speaker myself, but so far, it has worked for me.

I know that you are speaking about opening up our own stock agency, but I would find the photostore useful for

1.  Stock downloads
2.  Hosting client galleries where they can select, order and pay - without me paying a commission (i.e to Smugmug or Zenfolio) and without triggering U.S. taxes
3.  Selling physical goods - fine art prints, greeting cards, t-shirts whatever on-demand
4.  PSD Templates

It is easy for me to look at it this way because I have been paying Smugmug for clients anyway for a few years while I still have such a small stock port - but if I was a big full time stock shooter I'm not sure it would look so good to offer such different offerings on the same site.  Buyers might see it as you just throwing everything you have at the wall to see what will sell.

well.. I just purchased cmsaccount.. I'll give some feedback on how it goes.  I also have also used the old 3.0 version of ktools and wasn't impressed by the looks or lack of batch editing.  Version 4.0 could be better, i haven't tried it.  The looks are still sub-par IMO, which is part of what swayed me over to CMSaccount

Cool! I'm definitely interested in seeing a comparative opinion of the two.

Well - for starters I can see that the price is less and lifetime updates!

we need to be rational too, don't forget that unless the expenses are very low :)
