I posted this on the ktools forum but I'll also post it here..

Am I blind or is there a bug. When a user purchases a photo, they get a 'request' link in the download collum. When they press that this message comes up
"This file is not available for instant download. Please use the request button below to have this file be emailed to you."

I didn't get any notice on the back end of where to engage their download and I can't see a setting to allow for instant downloads. I'm pulling out my hair here. Does anyone have any suggestions?

.. and yes, auto approve orders is turned on.

Have you checked the Digital Versions tab of the images and made sure to check "Create Automatically" for each digital profile on each image...you have to do this manually which is QUITE a pain but it is supposedly on the list to be fixed in a future update.

Thanks.  You're spot on.  I also submitted a ticket and got essentially the same answer

That is normal, you must turn on auto create for those digital profiles under each media if you want the store to auto create them.

Example go to Library -> Media -> click on media -> click on digital version -> look near bottom at the digital profiles area and check the "auto create" box to auto create if ordered for that media.

There is no batch process for this, so each photo has to be edited. We are aware a lot of people are upset with there being no batch way to turn on the auto create so we are working to redesign that area.

I agree that NEEDS to be in place.  If they want people to purchase their software they have to have batch editing in place.  The people who are willing to fork over $300 are the ones with a reasonably sized portfolio.  The same people who aren't going to want to click 3 boxes on 10,000 photos.

Tyler, is this on version 4?  I am using v3 and haven't had this problem.

I agree.  I've been a bit frustrated by some of the important features that they left out of v4 before release such as batch editing, proper search and extended license options.  To me these are far more important (as well as getting a few obnoxious bugs fixed) than the development of the contributors add on which I don't intend to purchase.

When I was looking into buying I went and researched a lot of sites I knew ran on ktools and chose it because it looked like it had everything I needed, but it appears in some respects v4 has taken a step backwards.

For extended licenses I found a work around which I feel works quite well.  I just used the Products tab and changed a language file to say 'extended licenses' instead of products and then added what I wanted.  You can see it on this image for example

Tyler, I am getting a popup asking me to sign in and buy credits on every single page I try to view within your site.  Makes sense to have it when someone first comes to the site, but not on every page after.

boy, that's annoying!  Do you allow cookies on your browser.. I guess you must if you're logged in here.  Which browser ar you using.  I changed the settings a bit now - perhaps it works better.  It was only supposed to show once and never show again.

I really hate pop-ups on websites but when they work they are awfully tempting to implement.

I was seeing the same thing earlier with Chrome but it looks to be fixed now! By the way is that a custom thing you have set up that will automatically give 20 credits?  I've been thinking of playing with a sign up bonus.

no, there is no 'sign-up' bonus per say.. just when they subscribe to the newsletter they are automatically given a $18 discount code which they can then use to buy a 20 credit pacakge.. so 20 free credits.

All better now for me too.  Using Firefox 15.0 with cookies enabled.

Thanks for fixing it Tyler.  Now I can enjoy looking at your excellent site!  Would never know it was Ktools, BTW.

By the way there are some changes coming in 4.1 to improve all this. We have had a lot of complaints about the "auto create" option being off and having to edit each photo to turn it on etc..
So what we did is move that option to the digital profile area, and now you can turn it on/off for the entire profile. You will be able to actually select from several options of serve original image, create automatically, and manually process a digital profile.

There is reasons Jon created it with the auto create off by default, because the store doesn't have the ability to create an auto size for MP3, PDF, videos, etc..
Only photos, and to prevent possible errors it was off by default and you would have to turn it.

Thanks for the update Jeff.  Looking forward to the 4.1 release
