I'll try this again, in it's own thread. ???

Can someone tell me, what's in K-Tools PhotoStore 4.# that's not in PhotoStore 3.#?

I see a number of people who decided not to update and start over, I wondered what the major differences are?

Why should I want to buy version 4?

I'm not sure, but I think the big improvement was to the templates (being better and easier to work with). Also, you get updates and any improvements made for 4. With 3, you are pretty much on your own.

I think there is no reason to upgrade, If you already own v.3

Lots of things,
Slider, easier navigation, more gateways, improved design (still need lots of work if you ask me) easier integration with other scripts (like Google Analytics) etc..

however I don't think upgrading is the best idea if you've been using PS3 for a while, at least not without strong SEO knowledge.

I paid a fair amount to a programmer and designer to get my V3 site customized.  No intention of upgrading and starting from scratch.  Certainly not when I haven't made back my original investment.

I have spent a lot of time customizing my 4.0 site, due to all kinds of obvious interface issues, like X images per page, or images in more than one lightbox, ... all kinds of stuff.  To upgrade to the "newest" 4.0, it will take some time.

Did you manage to improve the search function at all?

I implemented a random sort.  I haven't played with the search engine itself, but it seems to work ok for me, when you use the autocomplete.

Thanks, it looks like most of the changes are functional and coding, as far as what the buyer would see on a simple site (mine) it won't hurt. I'm just going to try to sell some CrapStock as soon as I can get the domain name cleared. The nice lady Barbara released it but for some reason GoDaddy doesn't take a release or the code they issued saying she released the name. My provider can't transfer it. Everything is locked in Limbo!

I know everyone is just sitting on the edge of their desk chair waiting. (NOT!) Looks like the joke site will stay an invisible joke for now.
