In the last months sales through my e-commerce site are growing, and in February sales have overtaken the ones made through all the Middle Tier site. Do you have the same experience?
Do you think is possible to reach sales made through the Top Tiers sites?
My e-commerce site URL is http://alessandro0770.altervista.org/ (http://alessandro0770.altervista.org/)
Thanks for the feedback :-)

How do you market the site?
-
.

I don't know how you do it. It seems you have less than 80 images on your site. How do you get sales? Plus, there is no immediate download option after payment. Do you send the files manually to the buyer?

I don't understand what the 49c is for. There is a big price of $0.49 on each file page, then you have to add on a price for sm, m l or extended.
What's the $0.49?
Also, you charge $3 for a small jpg, but only $20 for a full size RAW file? I think the RAW is grossly under-priced.

seriously? I don't even know where to start, first what kind of numbers (revenue) we talking about, second are buyers your close friends or family or they coming directly from google? ::)
don't tell you are just pimping it here? :P

Wow, that's great that you can make sales with those teeny tiny thumbs. I couldn't find a way to preview a larger size other than an inch high. Why do all the thumbnails say Shutterstock?

it is kind of obvious ;D buyers need to know they can purchase them a lot cheaper if they wish ;D

I'm also confused by what the .49c mans, what do I get for 49c?
-
For now I send manually the files bought from the site. In the future I'll upgrade the site to let people download files directly. I'm still searching the right technical platform to do it.
Yes, for now I have 80 photos. I'll add other files soon.
The pricing structure is simple:
- 0,49$ base + 3,00$ for small JPEG
- 0,49$ base + 5,00$ for mid JPEG
- 0,49$ base + 10,00$ for big JPEG
- 0,49$ base + 20,00$ for RAW
For sure pricing could be improved.
The main question is...do you have the same trend in sales from your site?
-
The 49c 'base' makes no sense at all. Looks dodgy.

the main question really is how are buyers finding your website and why buying from you instead of SS once you promote it all around with thumbnails, sure they will check SS prices no? drop the thumbnails and of course the 20$ raw
they contact you saying I want the XXXXXXXX and you send them? how about license terms? you just give your paypal address to each buyer?

Sales are growing, you said.
Numbers please.
Portfolio 80: sales in last 6 month?

I've had similar success with my own site, but I've also seen very talented people that weren't doing well with their own sites. So, I can't say it's a fool proof "build it and they will come" scenario.
