Selling directly to a client

texelart:
Hi good morning,

I have the opportunity to sell some of my artwork directly to a customer. How goes the issue of copyright in this case?, is it normal that the customer sign a contract with the terms of use of the illustrations?. I'm a bit lost, would appreciate some help.

Thanks.

In my invoice, I describe the basic do's and dont's of that specific arrangement.

Microbius:
Yup same here, I have an invoice that basically says I keep all the rights till payment then certain rights expressed on the invoice are transfered.
"The graphic artists guild's pricing and ethical guidelines" includes some pretty decent documents to use as a starting point.

texelart:
But if what i want is to sell RF licenses, not sell the right?

Microbius:
Again, just outline the rights you are selling to them.
Non-exclusive rights of usage, the media they are allowed to use the image in, the print run, time frame etc. etc.
Whatever limitations you want to put on the usage and so on
