Title: $300 single video sale
Post by: ccbcc on May 11, 2020, 01:45
I've been selling clips at shutterstock for 8 years now, but I've never earned $300 from a single footage sale. That would mean they payed $1000. What kind of license was that?!  :o

Nice! It was probably a supersized, custom, multi-user, enhanced license with extra fries.

I had a similar price sale last year for a video.
By pure chance i then found the use - it was on a huge advertising billboard above a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur.

So things like that i guess.

+1 for the good news.
I understand that this is the exception,
but it is nice to hear some actual good news once in a while.
Congratulations!

I think last year I had *a* video sale for something like $150...

kind of makes up for all the $0.60 "increasing your market share" video sales from there too...

What if they distribute a few at random, so that we talk about this on the forums and they will entice more people to submit good contents? Like winning at the lottery!

well - with the 95-100% rejection rate on shutterstock right now for new images/videos... hard to try out...

Thanks all for the replies. At first I was afraid that it might have been a bug or something, I'm glad it has happened to others.

I also want to be clear that sales have been catastrophically bad at Shutterstock since last year, and increasingly so.
