Title: 2014, 2015 compared
Post by: PZF on January 04, 2016, 02:42
So how was it for you? I finished the year just $15 down on last year, despite lots of upoading, but much more erratic in terms of good and bad months.

I just about doubled my income at SS in 2015 over 2014. Not sure how much I uploaded, but I definitely did not double my port, so it was a good year.

Doubled my port on SS without any growth in earnings...

Can only speak for footage myself, and a relatively small portfolio, but it's been good:

Portfolio  +20%
Earnings  +161%

That, plus other video sites and RM. almost make up for the decline on iStock...

I added nearly 2000 files overall, mostly video and smartphonestock. The quality wasnīt very high and most didnīt come from "intentional" planned productions. My focus was elsewhere, stock was more a hobby in 2015.

Still 20% more than the year before. I am happy.

Portfolio  +7%
Earnings  -7%

This earning decrease was kinda expected with such a low upload rate (less than 200 photos + videos)

ss port increased about 30% to 12000
ss income increased 45%

overall portfolio increased 40%, sales increased 20% over 2014, but much of that portfolio increase is with sites like 500px, picfair, etc with little or no sales so far

Do those polarized duplicates sell at all, or is that just an experiment?

I don't track downloads, but $-wise, 2015 is up about %30 over 2014.  Hoo-rah!

Despite a decrease in $ earnings of 25%, I'm down only 7% in EUR compared to 2014. The changed USD-EUR exchange rate saved me.

My portfolio did increase, but I took a stab at uploading video instead of vectors this year. So far VB is more successful than SS at selling my videos.

mostly experiment - what's odd is the original is often rejected while the color variations are accepted as 'illustrations'- some slow sales - about average for my new images
