I logged out then was able to log right back in with the same password. So no, it wasnt reset and not required. Anyone else get this email and did you ignore it?
The emails did not link to any wierd address and the reset link looks as if it took me to the SS page, but dont trust it.

Nothing like that came to me - and I just checked my spam folder; nothing there either

Nothing to me either.

Ignore the email and don't click on the link as it could be a scam.
However you should change your password (just in case) but go through your account settings on the Shutterstock site rather than click on emailed links

SS is nothing but a thieves den and scam magnet. I just got a payout, I am deleting my photos and getting out of there, after 14 years. $hit happens, but they don’t seem to care about doing anything about it all. Um, no. I will already be leaving money on the table, and I can’t find a way to batch delete images so will take me a couple of days, but enough is enough. The horse has probably already left the barn, and is across the country by now, but whatever.

Lately I get a lot of fake PayPal notification emails. Naturally I never open those. ;)
But I just send them off to the phishing investigating department and let them have at it. 8)

Just an FYI I did receive a response from Shutterstock and they said it was legit.

Protection because maybe somebody was trying to hack your account, they do watch.
