Hi All;

I have drafted a letter for all to use. Please feel free to copy and paste and use it. I have posted on my FB page and more importantly my LinkedIn page where I do have a long list of photo buyers. Please share this draft if you are comfortable with the content to anyone you feel might support this initiative. And please as the #BoycottShutterstock. I have suggested to purchase content elsewhere and chose not to refer any one agency. I am exclusive with IS and the wife is on SS (she has removed her content). I felt it best to not recommend one agency specific as I felt this should not be about promoting any one agency over the other, rather it should be to the point of #BoycottShutterstock and the awarness to the photo buying community.

Do you work in the publishing industry or in an industry that purchases stock illustrations, photography, or videos?

If you are in the position to purchase any stock illustrations, photography, or video content and care about the livelihood of artists then please do not purchase your creative content from Shutterstock.

Shutterstock has recently given a very disrespectful 6 day notification to all contributors that a major royalty rate cut for their creative content will be effective on June 1, 2020, a royalty cut that is simply not sustainable for the creators of this content to produce. In most cases this is at least a 60% reduction in royalties. This new royalty rate is far below what is costs to create this content.

If you value the creative content produced by these artists and you value the creative community and the content they provide, then please support us by not purchasing your creative content from Shutterstock.

Many creative content providers in the stock producing community are currently disabling and removing their illustrations, photography, and videos from Shutterstock by the hundreds of thousands in protest. I have removed my content from Shutterstock and would like to ask for your support in this by not purchasing stock creative content from Shutterstock.

There are alternative sources to purchase creative stock illustrations, photography, and video content.

The creative stock community thanks you for your support.
