I'm guessing there could be another reason why people wont share any personal information with you IRL...

It's just Shutterstock ticking boxes. In practice, nothing will change.

Telling you what you may say, and what you may not is fascism itself. Isn't that irony. The "woke" fascistic mob.

Suspect

Thank you for this thread.

I got tired of physically liking all your comments OP, so just to say I like them and they made me smile.

I now have to go find these guidelines as I stopped SS sending me emails a long while ago.

I think somebody has a slightly unhealthy level of anger in regards to these rule changes. While I can understand why somebody might be opposed to these changes, I'm having a bit of trouble understanding why somebody would have quite that amount of opposition to these changes! Chill out, it's not the end of the world.

It's all lip-service to their stakeholders, take no notice of a sudden "sensitivity" about race/ethnicity/gender blahblah....if they cared so much about people they wouldn't have cut our commissions during the middle of a pandemic.

Best regards,

A person from Brazil

I pictured OP as Peter Finch from Network - I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take this anymore! Not that I disagree with anything he said. It seems people completely forgot what happened in the 1930's and 1940's. Btw Piers Morgan was acquitted today about his comments concerning MM. So not all is lost

I'm going to ignore the 20-posts-in-a-row-monologue-rant from last page.

But I will say this:
While in some cases, the whole identity politics thing is going too far, generally I can understand that they want to avoid titles that ASSUME things without being verifyable "A Hispanic walking on grass" may not be "correct" for two (valid) reasons:

- You don't know for sure if the person depicted is indeed Hispanic, or is of a mixed background. Maybe the person is part Hungarian for all we know. Misidentification can happen.
- You can't define or identify people solely based on their nationality, their gender or the way they look. Or maybe it's not even relevant to the picture.

That being said, having to jump through all kinds of hoops just to get a politically correct title like "A person identifying as a man who was born and lives in Spain walking on what is presumed to be a grassy field" goes too far. It makes life needlessly difficult.

"Reset" of search results will happen. For many of portfolio holders it is not physically possible to rename and re-keyword their photos and videos. SS of course will promote the "correct" ones.

Then maybe you should check the quality of your middle finger.  🖕
Your middle finger must be crisp and sharp, like my wife's, which earned me a few bucks throughout the years.  🖕

Besides my wife's, there are over 100k middle fingers for sale on SS  🖕
