Title: Confusing Rejections re: Vintage
Post by: Karimala on June 01, 2017, 19:03
I have a huge collection of old stamps, post cards, and envelopes that I've been slowly scanning and adding to Shutterstock. Lately the rejections and acceptances have been confusing.

Stamps with postmarks not affixed to post card are accepted (submitted as editorial)
Post cards without stamps are accepted (submitted as editorial and commercial, depending on whether the post card is addressed to someone)
Post cards with stamps and postmarks are NOT accepted with the rejection reason given as no longer accepting public domain images or images with public domain elements (submitted as editorial)

That doesn't make sense, since stamps and post cards without stamps are accepted despite being in the public domain.  What do y'all think?  Am I missing something here or is the reviewer in error?

Don't try to understand Shutterstock's criteria.  You'll go mad.  Just keep submitting.  Resubmit if you have to.

I think that you can try to upload again…
