This is how they replied on Friday:

"Thank you for reporting this important issue.

Our legal team will issue a takedown notice to this site, and others like it that we find.

Our teams are also working to secure our systems to defend against this type of fraud.

Thank you for your commitment to Shutterstock and for your continued contributions."

that Sh*tterDowner site is still up and working, very disappointing.
Not uploading any new images until this will be resolved.

I received the same answer.
SS shut down many of them these past months, unfortunately these thieves always come back under another URL.

The latest development:

The ShutterDowner site now displays Shutterstock favicon on the page tab. They've hacked that too. People who don't know better BELIEVE that they are actually on the legit Shutterstock site!

See for yourself. This thief is one step ahead of SS. SS needs to take serious action, their added security measures do not help. It's a cat and mouse game with this hacker, this site needs to be taken down.

I don't see the favicon you mentioned but the rest are all lies and window dressing.

1. Terms & Policies is a mandatory page on all sites which refers to the use of cookies, you can see it popping up on every site (in the header or footer).

2. DMCA protected is a free badge that everybody can post on his/her site ( I do it too) but you get no protection unless you pay for it. At the link provided by Artist you can see "not verified" on the shield. When someone pays for this sevise, it changes to "verified". Besides, it seams to be still pending.

3. Powered By ShutterStock - though the link is masked by google URL shortener, I think this is a serious ofence, SS should take some action.

Shutterstock may take action but it seems to take them forever. I reported this site through their correct email address to them around 10 days ago and had a reply from them a couple of days ago to say that they were taking action. When I reported the site 10 days ago, it was already using the SS favicon.

Shutterstock have replied that they are working to get this site removed.
I believe they do, but it is taking time.

Right now, if you do a search with "ShutterDowner" you can see this site is all over web. It's shared in Facebook and other social media a zillion of times.

Email Shutterstock.
When you see the link in Facebook or any other social media, report it.
Do something!

If you do nothing, you not only get nothing, these b*stards keep stealing more of your work!

It was already discussed few weeks back:
http://www.microstockgroup.com/shutterstock-com/dafuq-will-ss-ever-cover-their-loopholes/

Not sure when SS will fix it.

Thank you. I haven't seen that thread. It has been one month since the issue was discovered and discussed. Nothing has changed.

There's no wonder anymore why our sales are in decline. Shutterstock not only encourages 000' of new contributors to upload millions of poor similar images and spam the search but also has no interest in closing backdoors in its tech.

One simple search for how to download shutterstock images for free provides you with tens of options to choose from.

Very upset. Is there any official response from Shutterstock?

I think that one thing to do is to send a tweet to @jonoringer
Another thing it to write about it on the Shutterstock Facebook page > https://www.facebook.com/Shutterstock/

Of course if only one or two persons will do it it will have no effect, but if we are 10100 1000

(But as always, people will lament and do nothing You want to bet?)

Thats a sure thing Bet if I ever heard one. 99% just talk. Things are how they are because we let them be that way.
