Title: Database total :did you notice ?
Post by: Thomas from France on June 05, 2020, 08:04
when you go for a blank search, the whole database appears and look at the total , now it's 324,705,176
https://www.shutterstock.com/search (https://www.shutterstock.com/search)

but at the bottom of their site page, you can see 325,718,566 (the same since several days)

is the database decreasing more than we think ?

Actually, i hope so  >:(

I think database at the bottom isn't the same for days, I think yesterday or 2 days ago it was 326.sth.sth

Yes , but it doesn’t match the search result.

They could easily be manipulating numbers to keep the contributors calm(-er). It would not surprise me a bit if they did it.

It was close to 326,5 millons a week a go. Despite thousands of images added every day, whole archive is around 2,5 millions less now. I guess around 3 million assets disabled in one week on image side.

I'm dreaming about this to continue for 2 years at the same pace. What a lovely dream :)

People with twitter and other social media sites should spread the word.

Keep in my, when you do these searches it matters if you have Safe Search turned on or off.

Just noticed this on dreamstime:  "Due to the massive uploads, our pending area has been limited to 1000 submissions per user daily. Please continue the upload process after 24 hours have passed since your first submission."

Are contributors migrating from SS to DT?

I´m already a DT contributor, but I´m moving my SS portfolio to Pond5. Wondering if they too see an increase at the moment....

I did my uploading over the weekend, but when I looked today it said I could upload another 7,000 :) I don't have that many (goes to check in the sofa cushions...) Possibly it's related to approval rating?
