I'm increasingly getting those 0.25$ footage sales on Shutterstock. In fact it applies to most footage sales these days. What's happening and where is this going?

There's a reason why many of us no longer sell our work through Shitterstock. Maybe you've just discovered it?

I'm increasingly getting those 0.25$ footage sales on Shutterstock. In fact it applies to most footage sales these days. What's happening and where is this going?

They first started last year. In one month I had a whopping 350+ clip downloads for 25c. But I also noticed that they were the same dozen or so clips, that were very old ones, definitely not my best videos, and had no sales in a long, long time.  They were mainly finance & accounting clips, and some food ingredient subjects. (I have over 3,000 videos in my port).

After the initial shock, I resigned myself to the fact that they were probably incremental sales that I wouldn't have earned otherwise. On the upside, I had an additional $80+ that I probably wouldn't have earned otherwise, and because of the high number of DLs they pushed me up into the next video level.

Also, because of the high number of downloads, they also got very high search placement, and some later started selling for regular prices.

They didn't seem to interfere with my other video sales and none of my better high-performing videos sold for that price. So, I stopped worrying about it. I figured it was just another one of SS's 'special deals', and equal to 10c for photos. You can't go any lower.

The same thing is starting to happen to me again on SS, but not as many DLs this time.

Talking about Shitterstock - what happened to our StockCoalition?

No updates for ages.

I have not had a video clip sale with $0.25 yet.
The lowest sale brought about $0.90.
And the highest sale brought $82.50

I have only had videos on AS and SS and on P5 since August 2021.
In comparison, SS is 1st with $$ and downloads, AS has 2nd place just behind and P5 has 3rd place.
For me, there is no reason to worry about low sales on SS yet.Still, I'm a bit depressed at the moment because of the slow start at SS this year.

The chart shows all video sales in the last year. I also have another older P5 Exclusiv account, but its sales are of course not included in the chart.
