Just realised i have no ducks in my portfolio at all.

Somehow i missed this rite of passage.

If it ever stops raining i need to go out and find some ducks to shoot.

Geez, even I have ducks in my port, and I live in the desert!

I was wondering where all the ducks went.  ;D There is a pond in front of my house where there used to be ducks, but they seemed to have all disappeared ::)
My theory is that they were chased away/illiminated by the some agressive (but innocent looking) coots. No proof so far, but I will get to the bottom of this.   8)

With us you sometimes see the coots and mallards together. Here Mallards last winter along with one coot (Find the coot). In the other photo the coots are fleeing, but I think it was because they didn't want to be in the photo.  :)

We last saw mallards in our garden in 2013. Then I was able to take better pictures. It was now 10 o'clock in the morning and cloudy. Anyway, I took a picture through the window for the duck topic. Won't put it up for sale.   ;)

Lovely to get them in your garden Thijs.

Here is a Mallard couple resting and nesting:

Lovely too. Also nice to see how male and female are together outside the breeding season.

Nice images Steve.

We have harlequin ducks too.

That's a very histrionic name.

that name's right there with the grizzly -- Ursus arctos horribilis

as griz & polar bear habitats converge, hybrids, may be the salvation for endangered polar bears

I didn't know this beautiful duck. Unfortunately does not occur with us.
