What would be the point in uploading hundreds of the same plain colour backgrounds like this? Surely these don't sell and how do they get accepted? newbielink:https://www.shutterstock.com/g/Aperture75?page=1&sort=newest&safe=true&search_source=base_gallery&language=en [nonactive]

Fascinating. It seems that bots already create and upload files which are later inspected by other bots.
I hope they will soon introduce also bots buying my files, because human buyers have not been very reliable recently.

The point is so shutterstock can tell shareholders that their collection has grown 60% in the last year.

Seems like the only thing shareholders would be interested in would be duplicate profits. Not sure why they care about adding so much garbage...as I see it, it will only drive buyers away, causing the opposite. But I am sure the geniuses that make million dollar salaries know way more than I.

While the financials particularly the growth figures look OK they won't care. If as I expect growth starts to slow I would expect them to take a closer look at the business....then the share price will plummet.

396 pages of junk!!!!
The question is: Is the joke on him or people who give their time, effort and talent to offer value?
The answer is in his sales...

I doubt he's/she's getting many downloads, if any at all. It'll stay at the bottom of the heap where it belongs.

Really? With 396 pages of this stuff (39,600 images) then they must be seeing returns otherwise why continue with such a format.

Methinks you trust to fate too much.

You're right. The original link was sorted by new uploads. Sorting it by popular does reveal some usable work. I think he's got a few dozen that sells decently, which gives him motivation to keep making more.

Right.  Most publicly traded companies have to report to the Street to convince them they are a good buy.  Things like content, for which SS defines as a KPI, are important selling points to Wall Street because they can spin it any way they want......to fit any narrative that convinces the Street that they are strong, growing and a continued innovative leader in this industry.
