Title: Editorial Sales/Submissions
Post by: WarrenPrice on May 02, 2010, 14:02
I uploaded a few images to test the waters.  They were accepted within hours.  A regular RF image from the batch is still pending.  It seems editorial receives special attention by reviewers.  Wondering how others are doing with editorial at SS????

Okish, but nothing to sing home about. I have about 150 editorial images on SS of various stuff I do around here in Frankfurt for fun.

Seems quite logical to me since editorial are often actual images and need to get sold fast or never.

Sorry: that question does seem pretty dumb when re-reading.  I'm not uploading "current events," however.  Mine are more about people who made news -- things that AP, UPI, Reuters, etc used to credit as "File photo."

It got accepted very quickly, even tho it is not time sensitive.  Hope it finds a use.   :-[

i've found editorial sell at about twice the rate of rf - my editorial are rarely timely - mostly people in markets, street scenes, shamanism, schools, etc

Yes, editorials have their own, faster review queue at both SS and DT. My editorials (sports of all kinds) do very well (3 editorial sales for every non-editorial) on SS, not so on DT (7 editorial sales for every 10 non-editorial) - no idea why, though...

Good numbers, Ploink.  I need to get busy.  A lot of my old stuff is just gathering dust.

Spent the last few days selecting and prepping editorial images for upload.  They are selling just as fast as I can get them accepted.  It's sort of like a second honeymoon period.   ;D

Mostly niche stuff again ... motorcycles and horses.   :P

Editorial stock is why going to Hawaii for me is a write-off.  My travel stuff sells pretty well, and sports stuff.  Almost every day somebody buys a photos of sumo wrestlers I got from a festival.
