Happened to me on SS and other sites, the client sometimes need to know 100% that this is the right location (readers trust).

Thank you for you reply.
I understand, that this question is relevant for image with some outdoor scenery, castle, village etc... and it is for customer sometimes important to know the right place and the date where the photo was taken.
But I have got this question regarding my image, which content photo of product on unidentified general place.

I've had it a few times on here and elsewhere.
Seems genuine enough - usually for articles about a specific area or event where 100% accuracy needs to be guaranteed.
(Ive had it even for media where the location and date is specified in the description).

I had that asked, looked at the image and never responded. The next thing I know is that the buyer contacted me directly and I sold the image to them for $450.

Did the client buy the photo for 75 USD or did you get a royalty of 75 USD? Just curious :)

It was probably sold for 200-350$.

"It was probably sold for 200-350$."
Was he exclusive then and sold all the rights of the photo to the client? (if that's possible with SS anyway).
Otherwise, I can't imagine, on any subscription, the client would pay that amount. 75 USD is possible under extended license but then you as a contributor get a small portion of that. So that's why I asked :)
I never got more then about 12 USD with SS but then again I'm non-exclusive there and don't do RM's.
-
I've had multi hundred dollar sales on SS (my share) so the client likely paid 3x that in total.
-
I have got royalty 75 USD :).
It was sold under Single&Other

Nice :)

There are regular sales in range of 90-120$ for many contributors, without exclusivity. These are probably sold for few hundred $ to the client. I'm sorry you haven't had any of these yet, but you surely will, keep working!

I had customers paying as much as $300 for a single photo without any exclusive rights. (And the photo was not even anything special). Admittedly this high amount was a one-time occurance, but sales where the customers pay at least over 100$ for a single photo happen somewhat regularly. Not as often as I would like (obviously), but it's not that rare. For people with high quality photos and much bigger ports than I have that's probably a regular occurance.

I had one sale last year on SS for $1,000 and one sale this year for over $600. Helps make up for the sharp decline in other commissions.

Reading this thread, you get the impression that SS is like a paradise on earth. Everyone is making money like crazy. :o
-
Always problems and when SS dramatically dropped commissions on subscriptions did not help.
But it is what it is.

SS Premium is where I made the $1,000 sale, but they asked for take down notices on other sites, which I gave them.
