I haven't uploaded to SS for a while and that's why I remember how many photos I have. Yesterday I noticed that 9 photos disappeared out of my collection of ~8,000 photos. Anyone else?

I don't have any for sale there anymore, but back in the day I remember from time to time images would disappear - usually because they decided on a new restriction on what could be sold based on intellectual property. So at some point they got rid of a bunch of vehicle images. Good luck figuring out which images they were out of ~8000 though.

I am missing about 50 photos. Is this a glitch or something?

videos are getting deleted too... just today the portfolio is -12 videos smaller. I've started writing down everyday how much videos i have... and how many are getting missing.

Would be my estimated guess too: deletion of images that shouldn't have been accepted in the first place.
Don't have disappearing images on Shutterstock (yet?) but I had iStock/Getty doing it a few months back.

Today some images disappered in my portfolio too.
I noticed that because of a sale where the image later disappeared - see screenshot below.

The image was originally at this link https://www.shutterstock.com/image/2133874589 - which is now gone.

I just talked to the support with the following answer to my question about the disappearing images:

ShutterStock:
"My name is ### and although I am not a Shutterstock employee, I am a Shutterstock expert and contributor and am authorised to provide first-line support and will do my best to help.
Sorry that you are having this problem. This appears to be a widespread system issue at the moment as we are getting many such reports. Shutterstock have been notified already so hopefully they will fix the problem soon. In the meantime, thank you for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience.
We do not have a timeframe for when the problem will be resolved but we do expect all content to reappear as soon as a fix is implemented."

And later in the dialog I asked:
"Thanks for your answer - so it is known that images are disappearing? Can someone tell me how many and which images of my about 24.000 files are gone?"

ShutterStock:
"I am afraid that is not possible as the issue is affecting thousands of contributors. It seems that the images are still in the database and that the problem is an indexing issue. We are expecting all images to be restored once the issue is resolved"

So there seems to be a bigger problem with disappearing content in the Shutterstock database.
Going to take notes now of my portfolio size for images and videos each day...

They appear to have sorted out the problem, as the missing files just popped up in my portfolio this morning.

That would be great, but my files are still gone... example here: https://www.shutterstock.com/de/image/2133874589

Maybe they will come up later, as if there was a fix, this would take some time in a database with hundreds of millions of files :-)

Hello,
Today, April 1,2022, while I was organizing my collections, I saw that there was no a cover photo of money album. When I entered the album,I realized that my new images were missing. How many is disappearing and how long has been disappearing, I have no idea.
This kind of thing that has happened recently, when our incomes have decreased, is not pleasant at all.Bad things come to my mind,I hope it's just a glitch!!!
Thank you so much for sharing

One image is back today

All of mine are back but that doesn't mean all for everyone are back. At least this means they are on the way to resolving the issue, instead of sending us messages and promises.

Mine still hasn't come back!!I contacted them and they apologized, they said they are aware of the technical issue and will fix it as soon as possible. Some of us have images coming back, some of us are not, how can that be?
Interesting!

Hello,
Anybody knows, why the Christmas theme is displayed on the last pages of the Shutterstock portfolio?
I wanted to create a new topic, but couldn't find the button.

I don't know the reason, but sometime in late November / early December Shutterstock will "release" the Christmas images and they will move to their proper position instead of being glued to the back of your portfolio. At least that's what happened with my Christmas images last year. Then in January they will go back to the last pages of your port again.
