Anyone else experiencing major problems uploading footage to Shutterstock? No comments or help from admin, appears they have abandoned this part of the library.

Did you try e-mailing them? Seems odd they would just abandon a big market segment.
I don't shoot footage, but I had understood that to be a booming business.

No problems here but reading about others and FTP quitting and such. Sales are good.

They sometimes have problems. I've never had the feeling they take footage as seriously as stills. Things were much worse at one time, when they seemed to reject most clips for camera movement, even when the camera was locked on a solid tripod.
As footage clips are so large, I'm sure there's more technical problems and I've had some difficulties with most of the sites occasionally.

Thank you for pointing out this issue. Shutterstock Footage was aware of the delay in FTP processing on Thursday 4/12. By late afternoon, the FTP was processing normally.

Nope I get all my rejections at a nice even pace as always? :D (not joking) I'm a just horrible at everything except new ways to screw up, black bars, fuzzy at full size, not accepting these now, camera movement (time lapse on a tripod stuck to the ground with an iron stake?) and wrong format.
Yes, ftp has been having some timeout bugs. Rumored to be 440KB, personally it looks like one hour. Maybe it's either?
Some people are setting the automatic stay connected and using restore uploads features, also it makes sense to have only a single connection enabled.
Something about thumbnails. Things not showing. But in all I've actually had very few issues with getting files into the system. Patience helps. I had to upload one file three times and then a day later it appeared, two copies.
But if this is any help, SS has posted on the forum, it may take 45 minutes or more for video files to appear for processing and key wording. Nice to get an official notice of how the system works.
Good luck, I'm wondering if anyone has any sales or am I just filling a bucket with a hole in the bottom.

I have it on good authority that the system is working and video is taken quite seriously. Part of the Video team is at NAB so that might pose some slow down. If you have clips stuck, re-upload them and the server should pick them up within an hour or two.

I have noticed that it takes sometimes longer than usual that footage (or images for that matter) appear in the "to be submitted" queue. But other than that, no, no problems...

Problem solved now.
Turn off auto process, then log out for a couple of hours to let the server catch up. Then upload files using Cyberduck, when you next log in you get a prompt to process the files into the submit que. If they get stuck again logging out for a while seems to help.
To be fair Shutterstock support (by email) was very good - they just don't frequent the forums (lots of old unanswered threads hanging around). Anyway thanks to Brian at SS.

How about FileZilla? Will the same trick work, turn off "auto process" and take a break?
Odd thing, I've been using ws_ftp and haven't had any problems with files showing up. Some did take longer than an hour, and I did have a stalled upload, which reported as failed, but it was actually there. And then that thing with big files and long uploads, which has gone away. ANd I don't have auto process off.
Seems like we're in that strange area where guessing and changing things, makes them better for some people but doesn;t do anything for others. And since mine works, I'm not changing anything! :)
