Title: I've discovered the wheel :)
Post by: Luka on August 06, 2016, 03:59
Hi, everybody

Reading different topics of the forum, I have discovered this link: www.microstock.top/index.phtml?sort=portfolio (http://www.microstock.top/index.phtml?sort=portfolio)

Are there all the contributors of shutterstock? I ask this because I wasn't able to find me. I don't have an impressive portfolio, I am pretty new in this branch and also don't have not big sales, but I've noticed there are also small contributors. I did changed my username one time, of than counts  :-\

And I would like to know what "% of sales" means. Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

It's very accurate but only for photos, not footage. Not sure what % of sales means.

Interestingly, a first few all have the same type of hipster color grading, brownish with raised blacks :)

I am well on it but this is like a quantity list like biggest portfolio first. The top earners in dollars dont even have half the size of portfolios.

It only shows the contributors with over 1000 images.

The headings on the top are clickable, so you can search by other options rather than just quantity.

The % is the percentage of your portfolio that has sold at least once. I'm not sure how much longer this info will be available now that Shutterstock have removed the 'undiscovered' tab, which I guess is what has been used to calculate this figure?

Yes but still SS very often judge portfolios by size which is a joke really considering the top earners should be the important factor and their portfolios are less then 40000 files.

Thanks for the answer. I do have over 1000 files, so probably this doesn't apply. :)

well, which thing in this world do you not judge by the size??? ;)
even the zoom lenses carrying GWC are called pros by the amateurs based on the size...
i remember laughing out loud when i heard some dude corrected his friend who said,
"oh look, there's the professional photographers over there!!!"
...dude corrected her, "not all of them; only the ones with those big zoom lenses are profiiiisionals!"

The headings on the top are clickable...
If you click on "% of sales" number 12 is "Jon E. Oringer".

Are you sure you are looking at the right page? Scroll down the page, at page numbering check "all", then search .

I noticed on the first page of that list that some had 200,000 images but had a negative per day upload and a 2.3 percent sale for country which leads me to think that some of these large contributors are no longer contributing as they begin to realize that despite adding more photos their income is going down!

I am sure. I've double-checked the entire list after all the criteria and I'm not in. :( Thanks anyway

the easiest way is how i found mine.
-set it so the total of portfolio is in sequential order
-then go to the pages closest to the total of your portfolio
you will find you there.
