Title: I can't view the pages as a buyer using Mozila Firefox.
Post by: mike935 on March 01, 2019, 10:39
A page with a red sofa opens. Something went wrong, but we're working on it. They don't really do anything. It's just an automatic page. The last few days the problem has become permanent. I wonder if anyone else has a similar problem?

Clear cache? Bad Link? This is the page and it's working fine.  https://www.shutterstock.com/home (https://www.shutterstock.com/home)

I have a buyers account and there's no problem here. They often show the red sofa but its usually fixed fairly quickly

I apologize if I wasn't clear, yes I use Firefox, I also use Chrome and sometimes Edge. All three, depending on what I'm doing, but I use Firefox as my main browser. Nothing wrong with the others, Chrome is my second choice because so many site function best with that.

When you asked I went and looked, everything was fine, using Firefox. Your issue could be local, like your home, on and off connection from your service, something in between, or the server at SS being down. Hard to guess what the cause might have been.

Thank you, Uncle Pete,  for your answer. I read on another microstock forum that someone also had problems with red sofas.

I'd never put one in my home?  ;)

Yes, this is the Internet. I have pretty much the worst "high speed" internet of anyone on the forum. Someone dial-up with a modem will be slower, and someone else out rural could have the speed I do. But also, I can be online and watch the modem lose Internet and then re-connect. That's why I'm saying, it's not always SS and the whole site, that buyers can't see anything. Many times issues are local or could be some SS servers offline, updating or down, while others are just fine.

Download 1.63Mbps Up .11 Mbps

Good news, these things usually have a way of getting fixed pretty fast? (well not where I am, but I mean for normal folks) And if SS is down you can be sure they want that fixed faster than we do, because it's costing them thousands of dollars a minute, not chump change like they pay us.

Everyone, please bookmark this page:  https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/

Then without writing here and on SS forums or someplace else, you can check, if the site is down for everyone or just for me. Good fun and a quick answer.

Happy Sales!

Do you use the same version Firefox Quantum 65.0.2?
It works fine with submit.shutterstock.com pages, yet it doesn't work with shutterstock.com pages and I still have the same page with red sofa if I try to view any page with my or somebody's work.

Something went wrong, but we're working on it.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Error code: 500

Opera works fine with the same pages.

...Do you use the same version Firefox Quantum 65.0.2?...

I just upgraded Firefox from 63.xxx to 65.0.1 on a Mac and can log in as a buyer (I have two accounts) and do searches and things work as expected. I don't normally use Firefox though, so it may be that there was a problem but it's been resolved?

I remember that I recently decided to update my browser. Now I have the latest version and apparently it is not friends with Shutterstock. One can only wait for a new version of Mozila.

I see 65.0.2 on Mozilla's web site but I'm using 65.0.1 since my Firefox says it is up to date (it is set to update automatically).

Shutterstock.com works fine for checking images here, haven't tried to buy anything since I don't have a buyer account.

Might be, 65.0.2 (64-bit) here on Windows 10 and now I'm starting to see the problem might be, guessing as I don't have one, Macs and the latest version? Otherwise why would two people have the same issue and so many others not? Just guessing, can't see your computer.  ;)

Today I installed an earlier version of Mozila, 65.0.1. I started it and immediately checked whether it works with Shutterstock. Everything worked fine! Then I connected to Sync and moved my user data to that earlier version of Mozila. 65.0.1. And a miracle happened - again appeared red sofa, instead of pictures on Shutterstock. I tried safe mode, still shows red sofa. So, we can only wait for the problem to solve itself. Mozila is convenient because there is a script that allows you to see all my sales on one page, rather than clicking on different links.

Someone might come in handy. Finally decided to clear cookies and all data. Now everything works as it should.  :D

Good that you found it. I was out of ideas. Look what I got yesterday morning?

Oh, my! It looks like it's contagious! I would not bother with this browser, if not for the brilliant script of deymosD, which works only in Mozila. At the moment everything works perfectly for me.

No problem, I just reloaded the page and everything worked, but funny that we were talking about it and there was the Red Sofa.

You didn't mention that you were running a script, which couldn't find the new data. Haven't used it in some time, what does he have now that makes the script special? Yes it was brilliant work.

Hold Control and reload, that should clear the cache and be fresh without going into complicated settings.

I don't know if the Control F5 still works.
