Good start!
Your lighting is off...you need more of it!
As far as putting type on the image, I would not suggest it. It limits your sales, and designers can add it if they choose to.
The drink images are cool.

Also, you might get more responses and more details on improving if you change the title of your thread from Info to something like Need Constructive Critiques or Need Opinions on my images.

MSGers are more than happy to give advice. Just make sure you have a thick skin.  :)

no fault of yours but passing the initial test on SS (only requiring one photo out of ten to pass) is actually hurting folks.  The majority of your images are too dark and dull in color and the isolated ones are poorly isolated on white.  In the past you would've failed the test (I failed three times) and better yourself before being accepted.

--- I will give one tip (learn to light better).  Go on the web and study your lighting.

Here is sample of a good images that are similar to your image topics-

You need to be careful with spelling too. Coffee is wrong.  ;)

In addition to seconding the advice about adding hard to remove text over a photograph (it's fine to do "YOUR TEXT HERE" on solid colors or with vectors), you need to check your keywords.

It appears you have done copy/paste on keywords - so you have an isolated coffee cup with shop, table, pub, cupboard, etc.  - and with a shot titled "Breakfast" you don't have breakfast in the keywords (not that a pie looks like breakfast, but that's a separate issue). You have pictures of drinks with food in the keywords...without detailing every error, get the approach to keywords right while you're just starting. Get all the applicable keywords for everything you can see in the image and don't spam by putting in things like pub or table for isolated food/drink items.

You also have several images with a little bit cut off at the bottom (or the shadow is cut off). That makes it much harder for a designer to use unless they're planning to crop it significantly anyway.

And take the lighting comments to heart - you can keep your preferred muted style but still light the images well.

Good luck

giveme5 is correct in the opening remark. 1/10 gets you to be a contributor of ss.
consider this, in the days when ss was something to be proud of, you need 7/10 approved
before being a contributor. you fail, and you wait a month before re-applying.

based on this slack in admission criterion, it means that you have to try 7 times harder than us
to produce good images for ss.
although these days, even 100% excellent images are not being downloaded much
because they are not being seen...

unless you are an expert at title - spamming.

Agree with above.
You also have to learn how to edit your images for lighting, color correction etc.

I have applied Curve, color balance and a lit bit of sharpness to your image for your motivation :-)

One rule of thumb: does the food look tasty? If so, you're doing it right.

Your food photos look bland and unappealing.

And like some people have said before, never place text over a photo.
