It's only a matter of time before all of it heads this way. They need to keep sales and profits up to keep the stock price up. Removing restrictions and "making it easier and less confusing for buyers" is a competitive incentive. At some point there likely will no longer be any confusing EL licenses, unattractive download restrictions, or other pesky buyer disincentives.
How else would they continue to afford the swanky New York office and CEO status as a billionaire?

that0s it....soon view will sell for 2,99 dollar....it's only a matter of time...cash till you can....then find another job. it's pretty simple to understand. next quarter probably they will not expect esp expectations, considering they barely matched in the last quarter...still they didn't understand the lesson that customer are going adobe and getty for premium licenses, considering the mess of ss collection how you blame them?

I was ignoring that as they don't take our work, it's a closed system? But yes that does compete with anything individuals can produce, and once again Subs are taking over for individual sales.
The only positive I can see is this. Not everyone and in fact most buyers, don't need a subscription. This takes away from the meat and the major portion of our downloads, but a sub plan doesn't ruin the singles and other kinds of sales.
Yes it's bad because the deal cuts into the best part of our volume, no it's not going to be "The End" as single sales are still going to be at better prices.
Pond5 claims to take sound, but they don't really, at least not mine. Their rejections are based on what they already have from the house supplier, as far as I can tell?

Double talk for we're too busy to tell you why, but we rejected your work. :( Transparency, there's a joke.

Sounds like a terrible idea but it isn't really unlimited. I went to look at their FAQs and it's actually a max of 100 tracks a day - so about 3,000 a month. For $149 that's still a truly terrible deal for artists.

If they were to do anything like this for images, I'd opt out, and if I couldn't I'd turn off my portfolio. The only thing that would stop this type of one-sided rights grab is the content going away - or lots of it.
Scary sh*t.

Stock agencies are our biggest friend (how would I get buyers on my own?) and at the same time our biggest enemy.
