I have no idea. And I don't know anyone that did that. Doesn't make any sense.

There’s now a new post in the coalition group about someone leaving SS for Freepik. It’s obvious the site is infiltrating and even managed to get one of their people as admin for a bit.

With a similar commission -0.09 $ FrPk- that SS, in FrPk you sell three times more than in SS. Most contributors, including myself, do more $$ on Frpk than SS so far in 2020. But Frpk barely accepts new contributors and rejects 90% of the photos you send...

Fantastic! Then Pablo Blanes has plenty of money to pay me for all the vectors of mine he stole. Would you like my PayPal account info so he can send the money directly?

Freepik is like Istock but worse. It seems this companies like to pay few cents and people who collaborate with content there enjoy this. I wonder how people do this.

Freepik is a pyramid scam. Unlimited downloads for $ 10 a month can only pay 0.09 if only 50 photos are downloaded per month (0.20 to be distributed to 50%) This means that sales are well hidden or worse

Soon we will see a Freepik reloaded. Pay 2.99 and get all you can eat. It never ceases to amaze me how some people have such a low respect for themselves.......

That's not good news - thanks for posting it as I hadn't seen it.

The idea of investing more in this toxic business model isn't good. I don't know if this investor is more like private equity (get your money out in 3 years even if it means larding the company with debt) or more like venture capital - grow the company until you can take it public.

Ugh!!

I hope no one did this. It would be insane.

Nothing of mine is ever going to one of these sites. Insane is right.

Here's what Freepiks is: “global democratization of content production” Everything from everyone, or anyone. I only see the company making money from people who think their images will bring personal returns. You hear about someone making millions on YouTube or someone with a popular blog, but that's the exception.

10 years ago it would have cost $10,000 for a helicopter to make a short fly over. Now anyone can go to the store and by a drone. Although I still use "real" cameras, people can get the latest phone and shoot some acceptable and darn good photos. I mean for 75% less than one of my best lenses and 30% less than a good camera.

Microstock was that business, I sure hope Freepiks isn't the future but really, Pinterest has been around and there are others, where people don't even care about money, it's all about exposure and likes.

Just going to point out the politics and the anti-copyright people, plus the economic Socialists have a conflict vs their ideology, when it comes to their pockets?

"Copyrights, patents, and trademarks limit people's creativity. They constrain the virtuous principals of freedom of speech and freedom of expression. They prohibit people and society from reaching their full potential. They are artificial and unnatural. Perhaps most importantly, they are unnecessary.

Copyright, patent, and trademark infringement are not forms of theft. Forms of expression, processes, and pictorial logos are not exclusive to only one person or organization. They exist as abstract ideas, similar to geometric points, lines, and planes. They can exist anywhere and in any person's mind. It is therefore not right to assign them to only one person or organization.

Copyright, patent, and trademark infringement are not like stealing some material objects such as a vase. A vase is exclusive in the sense that it has unique properties such as location and time of existence. For that reason, the vase can not be copied exactly. People may have different ideas of what should be done with the vase, and so it makes sense, and is necessary, to assign the vase's destiny to only one person or organization. Some words, processes, and pictures, however, have limited properties and thus can be copied exactly."

I'd say even worse than free is the people who openly advocate, everything free, claiming that an electronic image isn't protected like a physical product. Absurd.
