It's live for me. Pretty snazzy looking. Need to take it all in and explore before I share an opinion. :)

It just went live for me less than a half hour ago.

They must have rolled this beta round out just within the last hour. Quite nifty.

Not sure how useful the map is. I think the novelty of seeing where the last few downloads came from will wear out.

I do like the Overall Earnings and Earnings from New Content features. Although it's sort of depressing how little income comes from my latest stuff. :)

...Although it's sort of depressing how little income comes from my latest stuff. :)

On the contrary for me. I'm surprised to see how often my recent stuff actually sells. I guess it's a two way street here.
It's probably impossible to create a stats page with information good enough for everyone.
I like what I see now, but of course it would be nice to see more...

Thanks for the headsup, Click!   Not sure how I feel about the page.  It seems pretty busy to me, but I can probably get used to it.  As long as the submissions page and the daily download pages don't change (drastically) I will probably be okay with it.

I agree with Mike about the last few downloads feature.  It seems pretty memory intensive and not particularly useful.

I have no idea what it does, only seen it for a second.
Let me go back and browse around, exciting :)

I was just there 5 minutes ago and it was the same-old, same-old. After seeing this thread, went back and there it was! Very cool that they are asking for contributor feedback. The map is too funny...it is novel, and the old page did have something similar but I can't help thinking if there isn't something more important I would like to see taking up that real estate. I will have to live with it for a couple of days in order to form a final opinion.

Does a world map showing where the image is sold? It might be useful ...

Hahaha!

Several my "air-condition" photos were sold in Brasil and Mexico, summer is coming there... My "green wheat" photo  was sold in Russia, they had a lot of problems with the crops this summer because of fire ...

I like the map, but I thought I might get more precise info if I hovered over the image or the little circle in it's corner.

I like the graphs too.

Interesting, only 30% of earnings from new content. It used to be close to 50% two years ago.

Yes, I tried that as well! How are you all knowing you "sold a picture in Russia" etc? My map doesn't have any country names or borders showing. Maybe you all have a much more precise knowledge of geography than me (not hard, I admit). My latest was a UK sale (I knew that one) but the previous ones were hidden underneath (somewhere in Europe I guess). Anyway of seeing them do you think? Still, great fun but like Rubyroo I was hoping for more precise info. Also, could only access that "home" page from the forum -couldn't find a link anywhere else. It is still beta, to be fair and overall I like it. Regards, David.

It's fun.  It shows me exactly where in the world I'm currently getting ripped off by 25 cent sales of my images.

Hahaha, Newsfocus, we don't really know the exact location either :)
We're just guessing :)
And you're right.
On second look, maybe The 3 Wise Men weren't sold in Mexico after all. Possibly Florida :)
Stats for the last hour :
Bulk comes from Europe and the USA.
Nothing in Russia, China, India, Japan, or Australia.
But interestingly enough - quite a few (4 or so) from Africa! It looks like South Africa (the country).

It's a new toy and I'm still excited :)
Memory wise - yes, true, seems a bit intensive.
Cathy, where is that Acceptance Rate section? Was it there before? Where is it?
Back to playing :)

I still wish they had the following features (or maybe I just can't find them?):

There is no easy way of searching for a particular image and see how much income that image has generated.
I'd also like to find out my top earners on the site without having to add up sales from different pages (25-a-day + On demand + EL)

Instead of "downloads this month" I'd rather see "Account balance" (Yes, I know where to find my "account balance", but I find it much more interesting than "downloads this month", the amount of dowloads just reminds me how little money we get for a download :( )

The month's balance is in the upper right hand corner next to the amount of this month's downloads.

What exactly do you want to see when you say "account balance"? Your all time total?

I really think that SS can take a step forward and do something BIG.. what is it?

I would say pick everything from contributors and make them.. then we would have a DESIGN settings (whatever) where we would pick the stuff that we really want to see on the home submitter page.. we could also place this "selected options" where we like most, doing our own design..

I guess it's useful for everyone that doesn't get to a payout monthly, and the account balance helps to see how much is still left to payout ;)

I like it the new page but I would like to have back the thumbs for latest approved and links to the newest forum topics...

Other agencies should take a long good look and LEARN.

No, I would like to see how much money is on my account currently, I think the corrext SS term is "Gross Earnings" on the Dowload Stats page. I have set a high payout limit to get a payment once every three months, so I would like to see how much my next payment will be. I don't say it's important, just more important than the "Downloads this month".

Oh I see, yeah that shouldn't be a problem to be implemented. Don't know though if the majority will be asking for it.

I agree it's all very nice but call me sceptical I'd rather they spent the time, money and effort into increasing sales rather than dibble around with the contributor back end, personally it did everything I needed to know before - i.e. what's sold and for how much.

The old info is still available when you click Download stats (under Stats, at the left site down under)

I like it too, but using a pop-up thumbnail of the download when hoovering over the map should be more handy. When having a lot of downloads in a relative small area of the world makes that all thumbnails lay over each other.

The best part of this is the one with "Earnings from new content". Also the approval rate would be good if they'll include it (as they ask about it in that feedback page). The map is useless, in my opinion. But one of the best things is that the latest forum headlines are gone, and I'm sure I'm not the only one to be glad about this.

I don't like the map.  It takes up a lot of space and doesn't really help me much.  It's a nice thing to have, perhaps on a separate page but I would prefer more useful stats, like some of the other sites give us.

I agree, the map takes up too much prime real estate. It would be nice to be able to turn it off, or have a modular design on the contributor page, where you decide which elements you want and where.

Plus the map is useless, unless of course I'm mistaken and:

One of the biggest design companies in the world is based in the Ascension Islands
Or some of the largest internet providers are based there.

Because I get a hell of a lot of sales from the middle of the South Atlantic ocean  :D

I find it very cool, especially the map. No, it's not really usefull but definitely interesting, it's a nice toy. I respect that SS still can be innovative. And there is one thing I respect even more: they are an agency who is still trying to satisfy their contributors. Other agencies do not care how unfriendly, buggy and difficult is their upload page and their contributor site. Other agencies are making your/our life more and more difficult every year.  But look at SS they are trying to give something to us, to contributors not to the buyers!

Nice toy, I'm amused. I'd love to have individual stats for images, nothing fancy, just times downloaded and total earnings? Downloading the excel and digging through it, can be tedious.

Thanks for explaining why I had those sales in Africa, I was wondering about that?

Map is novel and interesting but I don't see much real use except for bragging about that sale in Vladivostok. I do confess to feeling rather godlike in seeing my work zipping around the world.

I don't get any more info by mousing over the small circle on the image. Better idea for the space: 1. A running total of sales of those new downloads along with their number of sales per month.

The overall earnings is helpful, showing my sales performance over time.

The earnings from New Content: Nice useful idea showing productivity of my latest work. I'd add pictures of, say, 5 of my hottest selling images from that graph.

And please, SS, make it easy to find out how much each of my images are selling. I want to sort my images quickly by date, total sales, and downloads per month. The current method is too time to be of value.

Did I mention that the most useful single tool in microstock is IS's Downloads per Month calculation.

Within the U.S., does the map actually point to individual states/cities where images were downloaded?

It's interesting to see where the images are going.  Not sure it will effect my shooting/uploading though.
