Yes it's happening since yesterday, and images are taking longer to show up online.

They are probably fixing the multiple emails issue.

Things just got weirder.  I just got an email entitled "Your Recent Submission to Shutterstock".  It was a review message, with a new layout.  The images were another matter; they were from a submission from February 10th last year.  In the meantime, my submission from yesterday was approved, but no email for that.

I had exactly the same kind of e-mail!   Very weird!  All images that are in my portfolio for many months.   And no review mail for the recent submission ...

I got the weird email too. It had a bunch of images that have been on the site for years or months ("What we'll sell") along with one image that's supposedly been "rejected" ("Where you can improve") because it's not EPS 8 or 10, though it was accepted over a year ago and it is indeed EPS 10. So I checked my portfolio and that image is gone.

Weird weird weird.

They're obviously in the midst of rewriting all their emails and are having trouble with deployment. Having trouble with upload glitches too. Did they decide to outsource coding or something?

Very strange mail with rejection of last year images too. What's happening ?
Do they made a clean up ?

On the other hand, the good news is that review is very fast, 8-12 hours or even less.

And, suddenly my app is popping up notices on how popular this and that image is.

No Free Lunch

same here! Images that over one year old are now saying they were approved when they have already been selling for a while. I hope their database isn't crashing?

Me too!

I got several emails today stating SS's acceptance ("This is what we will sell") of images that have been online for almost a year, and stating SS's rejection ("This is what we will not sell") of images rejected almost a year ago.

Weirdo in the extreme!

Yep and no settings to turn off push notifications. Very annoying.

Like others, this morning I have received a "Your recent Submission to Shutterstock" mail.
I never received such mails before.
The format is completely different of what I have received before.

And the mail is about photos already accepted by Shuterstock about one year ago (so surely not  "My recent Submission to Shutterstock" )

Probably they are doing some test

____________
Edit: very funny to get a -1 just for having shared my personal experience

Shame to see what I think of as the only competent microstock house with these problems......meanwhile my last submission has disappeared into a black hole.

I think finally their changes and search result manipulations will bring them to disaster. They left nothing to regret for contributors. Another player will come, the place cannot be empty for a long time.

Latest email:

Dear Danny,

In a continuing effort to improve Shutterstocks experience for our contributors, we launched an updated version of the automatic email that informs you of the review results from your last batch. Unfortunately, some of our contributors may have received the email more than once or not at all, which might have caused some confusion. Additionally, we found an error that also caused some of our contributors to receive this email for batches that were submitted in 2014.

We are working to quickly resolve this issue, and we appreciate your patience in our ongoing effort to improve your Shutterstock experience.

Best regards,

Shutterstock

They have been smoking that weed for a long time now, they have been having problems with images not showing up for 7 or so years.

i was going to say that  but i didn't want to speak the obvious.
i remember in one of the firms i used to work, the new IT was related to some CEO. the company gave the IT guy full power to flip around with the programming. it ended up effing up the whole company's workflow.
i say the same thing is happening now with the flipping of switches once you reach a certain payout point, and as you say the search manipulation.
you think today with so many geniuses and wunderkins, someone would remember the old adage don't fix it if it ain't broke, and keep it simple stupid 8)

I got an approval message for my latest batch, so I suppose this has been sorted out.
