Since about a month, I noticed an increased amount of $4.06 SOD sales.
I know that the SODs sold at the subscription level ($0.36 in my case) are sold on FB, but where are these $4.06 coming from?

$4.35 here (must be on the .38 level).
I had 4 of them this month

In addition to the $4.35 and 0.38 SODs, I have some at $4.50, $3.45, $3.00, $2.40, $1.20, plus the higher value ones, which are always nice. All those numbers are SODs, not On Demand sales.

They obviously have some deals with corporate clients, but we have been told multiple times that they won't disclose the nature of these licenses.

Clearly, if they were selling the equivalent of an extended license for $3.45 instead of $28, I'd be really ticked off. I'm hoping that they are not doing that - because the blowback if they ever got found out would be horrendous, and I have to believe they wouldn't be so daft as to risk alienating contributors.

I don't think there is a single good reason for keeping the license terms secret, but until something bad actually happens, I've decided to live with my discontent and keep selling there.

I've had 2 ELs this month and seem to have fewer SODs these days than I used to - I don't think they'd be giving away ELs so cheaply since it wouldn't be good for anyone's bottom line - ours or theirs. I took my handful of people photos off for the chance at those higher SODs (since they said any type of image would be eligible) but have only seen one or two so far for more than $4.75. In fact, my "lifetime" earnings for ODDs are hundreds more than for SODs. I believe the SODs are for licenses that don't fit any of the standard terms, but I could be wrong.

Even without the 2 ELs my month on SS is looking up after the painfully slow summer, so I'm hopeful that things are getting back to normal.

Fingers crossed. Next few months will tell the tale.

SS sent a message that a "company that makes bread" was looking for a particular photo number and they asked if I would consider turning on SOD's until it was downloaded.  The pay would be $140 so yupp, I turned it on (and haven't turned it off since).  I wondered if it was the attached from Dunkin Donuts, but couldn't find the image used anywhere else with them.  Can't imagine why it would be $140 vs $28.  We don't have DD here, so I don't know if it was tied to a campaign or not.

It's a very good day when you wake up to $140 sales isn't it!  Have had plenty of reg sub value SOD's though too.

Scott from Shutterstock has explained this a few times, I can't find the post, but SODs are mostly sold to their big customers with special licence needs. So dont think of it as a lost EL but an extra sale, you otherwise would not have gotten.

My SODs are 0.36 to 5.8 in this month. 100 or more rare
