Had 12 images in the que....nearly all of them outdoor shots in full sun.  100% rejection for "poor lighting"!

Being shot in full sun doesn't mean you got the exposure, white balance correct etc.

"Poor Lighting--Poor or uneven lighting, or shadows. White balance may be incorrect."

We won't know though unless we see them.

Can we see some pictures or are you just going to debate how bad the huns are?

No thanks.  First, I value my anonymity, and second, I know the favorite sport here is to rip someone else's work to shreds.

Then it seems pointless to make these kinds of posts doesn't it?
Getting your work torn to shreds is how you learn.

That's way over-generalizing. Search for Aruba on Shutterstock and my shot is first in the list - full sun, but it makes sense for the shot.

I've no idea about the OP's shots, but for heaven's sake let's not start a dogma spat over what makes good lighting.

SS has a stick up it's whatsit about certain kinds of light - their privilege as it's their site. The fact that they reject a lot of crap images doesn't make every image they reject crap...

So I guess you're saying you should shoot outdoor stuff only when it's cloudy, raining or at night?  Thanks for the valuable photography lesson.

Come on. We all know the challenges with lighting and sunshine. We all look for burnouts or coal outs.
There are precautions: reflectors, fill flash, or using the harsh light to our advantage.

To our advantage is a keyword.
If a subject is not lit to its advantage, and could have been, then the image is subpar.
That goes for a horse in the shade of a tree, where a reflector could have been used, or a football on grass where it could have been done in a studio.

and again, wihtout examples, it quite meaningless.
Had there been a football on some grass it would have been much easier to be concrete.
Now we can only blame the huns and the sun.

You are correct on both counts.

Things seem to be going off the rails at SS.  Let's hope they pull it back together before too long, or the whole microstock landscape is going to change.

Not by me- try to avoid 10am to 2 pm sun but early morning or late evening is a major kick A#$ to shot outdoors. I used gold reflects as well to bring out more warmness in my subjects...

Just got 89 images rejected for same thing, in bright sunlight as well as cloudy conditions at beaches. 2 accepted out of the bunch. From now on I am going to photograph cloud bursts over the sea in a studio...  ;)

Holy smoke.   Can we all stop blaming the victims now?

I think the victims are the reviewers, 80+ rejected images in a row can't be pretty sight.

That's a ridiculously sweeping statement, though it is generally considered unacceptable by some of the agencies.

Out of your remarks in this thread it is clear that you are one of those members who just love to "torn to shreds" other people's work and the reason people will rather not post links to the forums here. No one here needs your type of education in their lives (if I may also now generalize based on my hunch)  8)

Since there are no photos linked to discuss or no examples and we are just discussing (or fighting about) hypothetical possibilities, I think it would be better if this thread was locked.

... I also feel that 'my image was rejected' threads would be a lot more productive if the image was shown.
