It appears that the millionth image has been approved.  The SS ftp is accepting uploads, but their system is not processing them at the moment.  Several posts on SS show that 1,000,000 has been passed.

Was it any of you :D?

Probably not since Shutterstock doesn't offer exclusivity.

Dang, I musta been close - they said it was approved around 4:30... about that time i was whining to a friend of mine about how i'd submitted 33 images to SS and only 13 were approved! Maybe i was close to winning :)

I am not going to complain that all of those 33 had been approved at other sites... i've been there and done that before heehee

i will say tho that the approver's monitor may need some adjustment (of course mine is perfect! :) because almost all the rejections were for lighting - they look great on my mac monitor :)

And the winner is http://www.shutterstock.com/pic.mhtml?id=1759748

well not to dish out insults, but i don't think shutterstock hand picked this image for the 1,000,000 prize :)  I think it was a bit more random.

and no, i don't think it is an exclusive photographer, because as Stockmaniac has also said, they don't have any exclusive agreements.

I'd agree -- I expected an awesome shot (no disrespect meant for the photographer) -- a real stand-out.  Looks like my shots had a chance :)  Perhaps now mine that are waiting for approval will get through the queue.
