Title: Portfolio critic
Post by: pauloresende on August 28, 2007, 08:46
I read in this forum that some of you are very happy with stock and have 1000 dl month. That is great and i hope some day can say the same.
But now i only have about 200 dl month, i now that my portfolio is very small, but i like your opinion on my work.
The 1000 dl is a mirage for me (looking to my portfolio) or with time you think that is possible?

If there's anything that helps getting your downloads up on shutterstock, it would be constant uploading and a lot of time spent. Works for me anyway, shutterstock is my best earner by far  ;D

I can't really judge the photo's since i'm no photographer but i would say the illustrations are pretty good. You just need to constantly upload new designs and maybe have a look around for popular subjects. Maybe try some party vectors, buildings, streetsigns.. ?

Your work is very good, and should not be a barrier to success. Your biggest problem is keywording. Take this image for example:

Your keywords are "coffe, cup, dinner, dish, meal, object, porcelain, tea, white". You have misspelt "coffee", and "dinner, meal, object, dish" aren't relevant to the image. My keywords would include "espresso, mug, saucer, ceramic, contemporary, modern, plain, empty, shadow, isolated".

... good luck!
