I have been doing some words pictures on SS and I wonted to add in description that customers can contact me if they wanted some special words to be written there since I could add them in just a day, but then I realized that I don't know is it possible to send private messages to contributors on SS? I saw that there is follow and option to send comment on someones portfolio, but I have never noticed anything about messages or any way to directly contact contributor.

Maybe this is stupid question, I'm new on SS, and microstock generally :)

I doubt SS will allow you to offer additional services to their buyers in the description. Then you could steal their clients away, right? ;) There's a lot of discussion now about people using redundant keywords, so they're cracking down on descriptions that break their terms & conditions.

Well I wouldn't really steal their customers since I don't have any way to sell pictures except on SS or IS, for now at least :)

But I understand what you said :D

So unless I make my own site for selling photos there is no way to offer this? On IS uploading time is way to long, and on SS it looks like they won't allow me :D

when i was with dreamstime (comatose time) me and a buddy used to get personal message like this.
they came through the comments to us.
but they usually end up with flakes, as it all turns out that they were trying to get work from you for either free or something even less than coming through dt.
dt, at that time, also forbade direct communication.

fotolia , once printed the names of the company who downloaded our work. but they withdrew it due to , according to them, too many contributors were bothering the clients by contacting them directly.

ON shuttestock on your profile, there is a place where you can put your website, facebook and maybe twitter..I don't remember.  I always look at artists profile by curiosity.

If a buyer wanted to contact you, that's how they find you.

But shutterstock doesn't offer customization, so I wouldn't put in the description title that you offer customization because that might not pass inspection.

I have been contacted on Dreamstime a few times to thank me for my work which is nice but not as nice as actually wanting to spend any more money on me  ;). Thats the story for me with DT I like them and their site they just don't make me much money.........
