Seems they are out to tinker with this now.

Few tweaks ok - but it looks like they are after ANOTHER OVERHAUL.
Fasten your seatbelts.......

I'm surprised nobody is interested in this - when SS changed the front page almost nobody liked it....and it is clunky, unhelpful, just not done well. Now they are evidently looking to change the submission process.

As a result, it seems that now would be a good time to get on SS forum and express views on what could be done better (in my view reviewing) and what shouldn't be touched (in my view most of it; if it ain't broke etc.

Clearly, only a sample of contributors got the questionnaire (which is maybe what happened with the front page) but getting in with comments may help avert a total screw-up, no?

Maybe no one here is interested because no one is submitting anymore. For years contributors have been making suggestions, but whenever an "improvement" is made, it basically means more work for the contributor but less money, and more money for them. Perhaps some people have had enough of the BS.

I don't know what questionnaire you're referring to. When I first saw your post I thought perhaps one would be coming and I'd comment after I saw it. Nada.

I doubt there will be a "total" screw-up. I didn't get any questionnaire. Whatever questions are in the survey I would like to add one more question: "Do you believe your opinion matters?"

You are quite right In my past life I did this kind of stuff...two questions I always wanted in was "Do you think this survey will be acted on"? and a question (at least one) on the quality of the survey. I always felt also that the survey results should be shared with those who bothered to complete it. Needless to say with regular staff surveys "Do you think this survey will be acted on". tended to trend down ;-). I think people have stopped commenting as what they say appears to have no impact FWIW I did get a copy...

I've got an e-mail from SS in 4th of May to take that survey, maybe they are sending e-mails in sequence to contributors

If you don't speak then you definitely won't be heard. If you do speak - then maybe or even probably - not. But you never know.....
Oh well. Can only mention....
Onwards!

I just got it this morning.  I think it is kind of poorly put together.  There are sections where you give a number rating on how important different features are and 1 is the most important and the higher numbers are the least important, which I think is kind of counterintuitive.  I almost put all my answers in backwards.

There is only one small section to add your own comment.  I just asked that they don't ruin file submissions the way they ruined the dashboard and the earnings pages.

I got the email today. They must be sending it out in waves.

I haven't uploaded in a while, so I'm not sure what I'd say. Do they still have the large batch errors for vector uploads? It seemed like you couldn't upload more than 20 images at once unless you wanted untangle a mess. Not sure if that is still the case though.

And I just received the email too.

I completed it, although I think they're focusing too much on gimicky extras and not the nuts and bolts - I don't want to crop and add text to my uploads on their site! I realize they'd probably just deploy their editor, but there seems to be a cluelessness about contributors who submit to multiple sites and the workflow you need to have to stay sane while doing that.

I put the review process as my one thing to change/improve - consistency and a formal appeals process. I consider the chances to be 0% that they'll do anything about that - they're all about cheap, not good.

They didn't ask if I submitted more or less than in the past, something I'd have thought they might want to know; so there was no way to tell them that the biggest thing driving submissions is sales, not bells & whistles in their contributor interface. iStock always had the absolute worst upload interface, but when the sales were good, everyone put up with it. If sales drop off, it doesn't much matter if you have the best upload interface on the planet...

Yep you would think if they wanted to improve things for contributors the focus would be on the inspection process which I imagine everyone would agree is horribly inconsistent. They just need to get the basics right and stop "improving".

So true! They don't care one bit about our opinions (the people who use it the most). I've had enough.
