I'm sure the number might be a bit over the map, but I'm just wondering if anyone can give a general feel of the ratio of sub sales to On-Demand...
100 to 1?
30 to1?

Units don't tell the whole tale - percentage of the monthly $ total is a better measure. The last month I checked (I think it was November) about 40% was on-demand (including single image and ELs - everything except subs).

In earnings terms, OD was one third of the value of regular downloads a year ago but has only been one quarter of the value this month (trying to count up the actual sales ratio would be tiresome but I think the money answers your question).

I have wondered if the OD buyers have been shifting regular to regular subscription contracts (which could be a side-effect of buyers switching from iStock). Have others noticed the same trend?

Non subs account for 36,5% when I look at the all time figures. But non-subs sales are on the rise for a while, they've introduces SODs in the fall etc. It's 40,5% in January. Hope I'll inverse the trend soon, getting 60% from non subs :) . If SODs are going to catch up with SODs, that won't be a problem. But they're still on the shy side...

So far this month: 52% subs. (Where I'm coming from: I do vectors and I got a Christmas card from SS.)

I have 40 downloads this month (my portfolio is only 50+ images) and they are ALL subscription! Not a lot of money earned! Though I must admit the number of DLs has increased rapidly!

All time since forever, OD is 20% of all sales. But with everything Micro consider the source and what that person shoots. I have one model released photo and I don't think it was accepted on SS. Maybe that will help figure what sells for more and OD if you look at people with higher percentages.

Actually, I am talking amount of DLs, here,  if its revenue we are talking about, then the ODs and Singles, etc are by FAR!  superseeding the subs.

What are we talking about?  I assumed that the question was about DL.  If we are talking revenue ... that's a whole nuther story.   ???

Well, since everyone is confused about what we are talking about, that allows me to add my thoughts... (without doing any maths!)

Consistently OD's make up half the EARNINGS that subs do (not including EL's in OD). Eg: $200 in subs would mean $100 in OD's for example.

I find this to be the case almost every month.
