^ Thanks for the update, shame it still isn't working - quotes like "very soon" "hard at work" & "next few days" doesn't really install a sense of confidence in me but maybe I'm tarnished from those kind of empty promises that their biggest competitor always makes!

This morning my missing images showed up - it took them three days to fix this. I agree that those sorts of smooth vague phrases aren't the best for making me feel confident, especially as this has apparently happened before.

Happy to say mine is also back since early this morning.

Me too. Must have done some indexing overnight. New images are now showing and also new image is first in my keyword test for my own images. #1 in the Popular and New, search and it has no sales, just got placed today. I guess SS still has a short "Honeymoon".  ;)

I'm sure this is not helpful to most people, but I use the Browser Plugin Upload and have never had a missed upload.

The rest of the so called fixed bugs, have never been fixed and continue after what seems years now. Just getting worse.

Sales on the other hand, make up for any temporary delays, which might as well be considered part of the program. I now accept that sometimes new uploads will get reviewed and disappear for a few days, before finally going active.

I'm forced to go back to something I wrote back when I started and people were complaining of slow reviews. I took the picture yesterday, it never existed before, it was never for sale. The buyers haven't been sitting on the edge of their chairs waiting for my newest upload.

1) 1837 - Daguerr'es first dauerroetype, the first image that was fixed and did not fade and needed under 30 minutes of light exposure.
2) 1871 - Richard Leach Maddox invented the gelatin dry plate silver bromide process - negatives no longer had to be developed immediately.
3) 1888 - Eastman patents Kodak roll-film camera.
4) 1914 - First 35 mm still camera developed.
5) 1978 - Sasson and Lloyd were issued United States Patent 4,131,919 for their digital camera.
6) 2000 - Micropayment Agencies started on the Internet
7) 2012 - 175 years later I take a photo and can't wait a few days for someone to finish processing it?

Has everything and everyone become so impatient, and self important, that we can't wait. What do a couple more days matter?

The bugs on the other hand are an indication that there's something seriously flawed and wrong with Microstock. Agencies can't control their own websites, some have so much fraud that it's become a standard issue of their business. Some have searches that don't work anymore. Some can't even move files within their own business, after a year! What's wrong at SS, lost uploads, lost accepted files, is minor compared to the bigger picture.

Glad to hear than one of the Shutterstock bugs appears to have been fixed but I've uploaded 10 images today, all went through FTP but only 5 have made it into my 'clips and images to be submitted' folder on the site, and still no sign of the batch that I originally posted about.

Yeah, I had that problem too.  Uploaded 25 images, only 5 made it to the cue.

I did have a batch that disappeared from the review cue show up again after over a week though.

I had all my images that disappeared show up again, then uploaded another 25 but only 1 showed up to be submitted.

SS puts different sets of data like images, thumbnails and the keywords associated with the images in our ports on different servers. These latency bugs which continually reappear without resolution, could be caused by data set servers that are out of sync across the SS network.

Ding - give that man a prize.

There were smaller errors in the past and they seem to be getting larger. At 18 Million files, video, servers around the world, it's not easy.

The problems continues. I suspect it has to do with Shutterstock's version of Edstock, this and this and who knows how many others.

Funny, for the first time since the middle of last year, I uploaded some images, they got approved and they didn't disappear after two or three days. Not only that, some of them are getting sales, so I know they are showing in the searches.

I hate to be jumping to any conclusions, but what if they actually fixed it this time.  ???

Give it a few weeks and lets see. I'm still a skeptic but at least hopeful that it's not an impossible computer problem.

So you are telling us that your image was positioned in the number 1 spot on the most popular page and it has never had a sale? Are you saying that it is postioned number 1 in your port or on the site as a whole.

Quite frankly I find that alarming.  I have been experiencing the opposite, the batches that have gone missing and then re appeared are burried many pages back in the searches. So far back in fact that most of the time I give up looking for them in New, Relevant and Random. I have never found an image that has no sales positioned on the front page of the most popular search.

Yes, it's an amusing and ever changing mystery.

Yes on the keyword search, entire site, for a particular word... my newest image is #1, now has 3 sales. (this isn't like some firestorm of sales...) My oldest of the same keyword has over 100 sales and is #10, behind some of my other images that were uploaded in between the two. New and Popular give the same results, Relevant is different, where four of the top five are mine and my best selling of that keyword is still 10th.  ??? Random pretty much scrambles and shows them in reverse order. Best selling moves to third and someone elses image moves to first.

No I'm not concerned, watching or fearful. It's just the way it goes. Also and important, this is all for a keyword that only produces one page of results. I intentionally added that word to five of my images.

There's a reason why I watch it, trying to find something with a single page. Less complicated than something with many pages where I'd have to memorize them all or take notes. One page is easy to see what's going on. It's also possibly an invalid test. I don't know how, but since best seller is in the first row and newest with 3 sales in 9 days is first. I'd say, that's a nice kind of boost?

Maybe they repaired the old system? Maybe it's just me? Maybe I'm lucky and this one image is a fluke. I don't have a deep meaning or insights.

Just that, it is what it is.  :)

Using more common words, two of them, my second seller, which is also new this year, is about #40, the best seller is #96 on the first page. Next one is #180 and 4th is end of page three of 20 (100 per page, 1900 results) 1 on page 11, which has maybe two sales in four months, a dog of an image anyway. Never found the newest one in "Popular" hopefully it's there somewhere and I just didn't see it.

Search for "new" same two words, new image is # 31 of the 1900.   "Relevant" best selling is #10

This one has NOT gone missing (yet?  :D) the middle four have. I'm not sure about the one that sells best, it's been around a couple of years, might have missed the random appearance, disappearing, ghosts and phantom images.

Fair enough for me? People are seeing and buying the new image. It's listed on line three of new, in a 20 page search...

Now what's alarming? You don't appear to explain your alarm, fear, concerns or what you are watchful of. I honestly don't get it. Can you explain what's behind these expressions you use for SS?

Still some problems, all uploaded images do not show up on the page...

So I had some images approved, after a wait, over the weekend. This morning, one of them sold, but now those images have disappeared from my active image list, count and gallery. I guess they'll show up again..

Noticed the same thing happened to my uploads from the last 1-2 weeks. I lost several images to this bug.

Here's what troubles me. The new images were having daily sales, and then boom, they are no longer part of my portfolio. If I search for them, I can find them in SS. And yes, I do see my name in the copyright. But that is just the EXIF data showing up, correct? So potentially these images could be selling without me being credited, because SS no longer considers them part of my portfolio.

I sent an email to support about it but I don't suppose much will come of it. I'm tempted to simply upload them again, and if I end up with doubles, well that was their fault not mine.

really dont want to compare to IS bugs but this one is "online" for what? 1 year??

True on the comparison. But this one is a biggie. Why upload if your files randomly disappear after they start selling? And the million dollar question is...are they still selling without you being credited? If they are still well placed in search but aren't showing up on your uploads page, that is pretty troubling. Nothing like 0% commissions to get you motivated.  ::)

Try 2006, granted the bug did not show up so often back then.

it has been really a standard feature in SS now. Not only newly accepted files go missing frequently but also the old ones from the port. Even support teams are probably in long leave. No reply from them at all.

Same here, I have been missing 9 approved images since a week they showed up after approval for a day or two, got few sales then they disappeared

Honestly I don't think this is a bug anymore, it's been there for almost a year now may be more, it's targeting "Mainly" old contributors who earn 0.3+/D it's more money in SS pocket, so Why in the world would they fix that!

Dear Contributors:

As you probably noticed, we continue to experience issues with some old and new images not appearing properly in your portfolios at this time. Our tech department is working hard to correct the issue(s) and we expect the images to be back soon.

Every "missing" image can be searched by ID number and a large number of "missing" images can also be searched by keywords. There is no need to report the missing images to us. Do know that we are very sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue.

Most of the photos that disappeared from my port are now at least visible in the darkroom (so I can at least check the stats) .
