Hi,
today I had loooots of these 5 cent Backup CD sales at SS.  I sold so many Images today like in the whole past 3 months (I know, the BackUp CD thing is not really a sale).
Is this just me? Do you experience the same phenomena?
Or is it just a coincidence?

Thank

Gunnar

There was a thread in the SS forum about the lack of these lately.  I did get a rush of them today, so perhaps buyers do read the SS forums?  I better get pimping again :)

Wonder what's up with that.

The same for everyone. They probably got stuck for the whole months and get recovered today

Very strange indeed.

No back sales for several weeks (even months)
Someone complains in the Forum
Rash of backup sales (at 0.05 cents per)

Will someone complain about 5 EL's days!!!!

I guess someone suddenly remembered they need to do their backup :) 4 so far for me today, while none this month.

Not a word from SS management but this appears to be a screw up on their side that they were not even aware of until people started chatting about it in their forum.  Wonder what other contributor revenues have been falling through the cracks.

Interesting - if this happened at FT without a peep out of management there would be a revolution.  With SS no one seems to think it is serious.

Go figger.

Oh, I'm not questioning their honesty but I am beginning to wonder about their competence.  Maybe their database can't handle the load any longer.

I had 20 back up sales in the entire month of Feb at SS

Then nothing in March until the 26th when I had 44 and another 10 on the 27th

I also got a couple of 5 cent backups out of the blue.  Of course, there's no way to know if ANY sales revenues are actually being reported. It's a weird business where there's no 'inventory' as such.  It's not like I could upload 10 copies of an image and be notified when they'd all been sold, and it was time to upload some more.

Ok, so I am new to the site...what does the back up CD do for the buyers or what is it really?

It's a physical CD that is sent to the buyer with the images they licensed on it.
