Nice.   Here's hoping it becomes a trend.

I sure hope it becomes a trend!

It sure did put a huge smile on my face. These we for 3 very ordinary technical illustrations in black lines on white of a flower bud (3 differents). I am confused as to what license was used for this, but I will sure not complain about it! :)

I don't know about a trend or not, but I had a photograph sold with a $112 commission earlier this month on SS.  Here's hoping for lots more!

Yes those sales sure do put a smile on our faces :)

To think of it, how many agencies tries to find a way for us contributor to earn MORE?
(and by doing so, the agency also earn more :)

On your Contributor Page, when has the Monthly Earnings  at the top right, change to total Gross Earnings? I just had a "GREAT!" moment until I realized that the sum was not July Earnings . . . . . . . . oh well.

For me, at least, this is new.  And if you click on "Earnings" then it brings you to "Earnings Summary".

Kind of nice.

Trend???

Key to success in one naive step by Morphwanbeeart.
Buy cheap old fake illustration book. Put it on scanner an vectorized it in Illustrator with thousands or millions of dots and open paths?!?
Upload and enjoy... Cool

THNX for sharing this kind of lobotomy ;D

Tomorrow I'll go to school of brain disabled persons who are hungry for any kind of job and show them how to press Scan button on scanner, after that button in Illustrator how to trace it and Ill by them few grams of peanuts (because they are not wealthy (peanuts I mean), one scan one peanut, one trace one peanut. No more)
Ill bee back tomorrow (like Schwarzenegger as Terminator) and pick up my DVD with this traced old fart shits and upload it to all stock sites.
Watafakija

After that Ill proudly post my EL or whatever great earnings here at MSG forum.

P.S.
I dont like copycats (who does)
But you portfolio is first who deserve my big PUKE.

OK I understand that you know to draw something in illustrator or in other vector applications but this is not what buyers want to buy. So you as I can see you find trace option in Illustrator or Corel which made you Illustrator Master Blaster as you present yourself.

If you are offended with my piffle fell free to tick IGNORE button (its not harder than press Scan or Trace button which you are using so often in you lets say work)

Good luck

I don't know about Morphart, but mine was about the farthest thing imaginable from either a sensitive purpose or something for a "mature" audience.  It was a photograph (not illustration) of fall leaves, composite of three individual leaves actually, with some shadowing and text thrown in.  I can't imagine an application for this image that would call for a sale of a couple hundred dollars (my commission $112).  I have received a couple of EL's and numerous OD's for this image, but big dollars ..... I just don't know.   No complaints of course, but I sure am curious.

Hope you fell better after this? So much hate and frustration in you, things must not be going well for you to be complaining about other peoples portfolio. I'm the one working on it, why should you care?

1st nonsense :
...but this is not what buyers want to buy.

How please enlighten us with your knowledge... What DO buyers want to buy? My earnings and download shows the contrary else I would have stopped doing this a year ago.

2nd nonsense:
So you as I can see you find trace option in Illustrator or Corel which made you Illustrator Master Blaster as you present yourself.

Do you take drugs? Illustrator Master Blaster... Maybe find something less nerdy next time if you want to insult, just had a good laugh :). You try and do some of those type of image, you will see that there is a lot more than what you think you know.

And for your reference I do have also 700 hand drawn color illustrations and 320 video. Not sure what is your point. Not my fault if you didn't get those type of commissions. Stop crying start working, maybe you'll see results.

For my part I am not artistically proud of my portfolio, and I do know that it does not have the top level quality aspect your portfolio might have, but from a business point of view (yes this is a business, not an art gallery) I can say I would not switch my portfolio with yours :). There ARE buyers for these type of images, I see 3.3k of them saying it each month in Shutterstock.

WOW! I have never seen one of those!
I thought that the maximum royalty at SS was 28$ for an EL. What type of license is that?

In fact, in this link I cannot see royalty rates more than 28$: http://submit.shutterstock.com/earnings_schedule.mhtml

I think it's at the bottom where it says
"Images:
Single Image On Demand
and
Any Products Not Listed Above"
You get between 20-30% of the sale depending on your level.

Yeah, I have read it. It's about the licenses for "sensitive uses", with royalties up 75$.
I have never seen one of that  ;D

From what I understand, these high dollar images are negotiated on a one-on-one basis with the customer.  That's why the dollar amounts can vary so widely.  Based on the 20% to 30% commission mentioned in the SS blog, my $112 image apparently sold for somewhere between $375 and $560.  I sure would like to know what it's going to be used for.  I've one image that was sold several years ago for $0.25 when I was first starting out with SS that I later found on a billboard in Oklahoma.  Bummer.   :'(

Looks like the love is being spread around a bit __ I just got a $75 sale too. That's actually the highest individual commission I've earned since I started doing microstock over 7 years ago. It was a kitchen interior shot, apparently purchased in Turkey or thereabouts.

For sensitive use?!
They must be going to composite in a 'sex on the worktop' scene!

I have 75 USD sale too. Hallelujah. I thought that there must be some person (or pet maybe) visible on the image so that some use could be considered as sensitive. Fortunately not. Destroyed landscape can be downloaded for sensitive use too.
