Post by: disorderly on October 06, 2014, 14:37: It's a mistake on the part of the customer, but I suspect not the result of any bad intention. My guess is that they wanted to credit the source of the images but not go to the trouble of writing separate credits for each photographer. They aren't obligated to credit anybody, so I think it's nice they at least point readers at Shutterstock. Saying Credit: Shutterstock.com would have made it more clear and more accurate, since SS isn't the copyright holder.

well, actually it would be nice to start having everyone be credited . after all, given that microstock pays so little , a credit line would be the least anyone who downloads our word should do.
i recall long time ago when fotolia actually not only had downloaders credit you with both fotolia and the owner's name by the side of the photo used. but also have infos of who the downloader was , available to us.
then they stopped doing that because some goofball(s) contacted the clients directly, and became an annoyance to the clients...(or so the story went ).

if u take it that high paying photograph works like Pirelli credit their photographers,
one would think crumbs microstock-er should indeed be credited, don't you think?

The other an article complaining about the sustainability of fish for McDonald's sandwiches. Wow, people sure have nothing to do with their time but worry?

Post by: Beppe Grillo on October 16, 2014, 08:59: Well, I wrote to the journalist who answered that it was a mistake (due to some ignorance) and that he will take care to put the name of the photographer under the images.

And so he did (except for the first image) :)
