Database begin to grow again.
Because of this will do some future planning.
As for me, i am in with two ports: 16000 + 10000.
1st phase: https://www.microstockgroup.com/shutterstock-com/stop-uploading-to-ss-join-the-action (https://www.microstockgroup.com/shutterstock-com/stop-uploading-to-ss-join-the-action)
2nd phase: https://www.microstockgroup.com/shutterstock-com/shutterstock-blackout-2nd-phase-22-28 (https://www.microstockgroup.com/shutterstock-com/shutterstock-blackout-2nd-phase-22-28)

The database will grow as the image factories continue to dump stuff on there along with the low quality spammers who seem to have no issues getting their crap approved
-
Too little percent of contributors are ready to strike.
-
i think files count doesn't take down the deactivated files...indeed many buyers can't buy what they need because the file still show but when you click to buy it says that there is an error and to contact support...

I would not be surprised to learn that some of the people who are now protesting in the streets in support of black people, at the same time, continue to upload images to Shutterstock!

We could not have seen the huge drops in file counts if only deleted files were removed from the count. I am sure that disabled files get removed from the totals too

Are you serious ? How could you be serious ? How is it relevant ? Let me guess... you are not part of the protestors, aren't you ?

Just look at the recent uploads
25 images of the same swan in the park
20 images of barely focussed mushrooms
the same image in 5 different color effects...etc...
They are desperate for content and take everything.
In 3 weeks SS lost over 50% of their uploads! I consider that to be an amazing success!
Especially because these are the people with quality material.
They are down to 903 000 uploads a week instead of 2 million.
Lets us see what happens when that drops even more.
-
No prob, i'll keeping ports shut.
-
Expect them to manipulate/ fabricate figures as soon as they can get the programming done to make it happen.
Look at the spamming of reviews, twitter etc. by paid factories in India, the have no qualms about making this stuff up.
-
Sorry, I'm out after 1st July. But I will not upload. And I will track how things is going. Maybe will change my mind.
-
Ports will be shut right till jul 8.
Firmly.
-
for me Finish with Shutterstock. 0,10 a picture NO NO NO... I won't upload anymore until they changed as they we before.
-
My images have been deleted. #boycottShutterstock
edit: actually, I left one image in my portfolio, it’s gone now. They are playing games.
-
Keeping my images and videos deactivated.
-
I just deactivated my 1400+ images and 400+ animated videos for the time being, at least until June 30th and possibly the whole of July.
-
I want to vote for the blackout but don't know where to vote.

Don't be sorry. Keeping the Q2 report low is a big plus. As is #NoMoreContent
As for the comment that they'll make the numbers up once they've figured out how to, their financial reports and collection size claims are material information about the business. Lying there has the potential to put them in legal jeopardy.
Not that they'd be the first corporation to manipulate or lie about their performance, but it's a much bigger risk for the execs than just putting crap images on their web site
And a big thank you to everyone who is doing whatever they can to fight this cash grab.
No #Shutterstock without our images, illustrations & videos

They changed logo on utube channel and think that it will rebrand their sh#ty actions.
Pretty pathetic.

Why do they still have youtube channel online? :)

One comment, stock prices are driven by sentiment more than actual numbers. Masses have sold stock based on tweets, comments and some financial advisers comments despite the company being sound. SHUTTERSTOCK does NOT SEEM TO BE SOUND
Suggestions
1. We tag $sstk in all tweets about people leaving
2. Lets tag publications like the wall street journal, simply wall street, major investors etc
3. Highlight the crappy quality of content, share holders don't want to be holding a hollow company.
4. I'm not sure if the coalition can actively help, but reaching out to financial publications and explaining the issue could get an article out or change their financial recommendations

I won‘t upload anything and photos stay closed, but I might activate video to get my own data. I closed that port on May 26.
Might wait a bit longer but at some point I will open the video port.
I am focussing uploads elsewhere, I need to build up more balance.

sounds like hashtag spamming
3. Highlight the crappy quality of content...
don't claim what you can't prove - millions of buyers are not DL'ing crap, are they?

Most of that is being done. Jo Ann has been a rock star with tweeting. Kudos to her. And lots of others. Publications are being reached. But FB deletes any stories about SS (SS and FB are in bed together).
-
Absolutely, lots of tweets, but we'll need tons more retweets, hashtag mentions if we want people to take notice.
Jo ann is a star, as are some other regulars like CH media etc

For all of us participating in this to reactivate is no option. There simply is no turning back!
-
I am NOT reactivating if/until there is some significant reversal on SS part - but realistically, I think the chances of that happening is next to zero, so I am already resigned that I will close my account altogether
