I submitted some wallpapers I did on photoshop and they were rejected for possible copyright infringement. I contacted support and they toldme I had to provide a property release for them. How do you do it? Should I make a generic release and attach it to each image?

Who's going to sign the release? If they are infringing it's not because you created them yourself and there are no issues? In other words, they would still be infringing.

Link to a sample so people can see and maybe give a better answer? You can't release someone else's copyrighted designs, logos or work.

Myself, I guess, since I made it. Even the logo in the pattern was made by me. I'm just not sure what to write in the release...

Here's the image I'm talking about:

The others are color variations of this one.

Thanks for posting a picture for people to see and discuss. They want a release for this pattern> I'm stumped! I thought I was going to see something like a logo from some known product or company made into a wallpaper. Holy Cow!  :D

Maybe you need to make a release that says, "I created this, it's my own, I didn't use someone else's designs..." Since I do photos and nothing like this, here's hoping someone who does has the right answer. Stumped!

I can't understand it either. I'm thinking about making a release saying something like you said but then again if it is like that, shouldn't I do one for each photo I submit?

They are refusing this image also for the same reason:

With all the songs in the world, how many have those four notes in that sequence? Can the song be identified? Can't I write a song with those notes?? I don't get it really. The funny thing is that if you search for "hendrix tablature" you can find what are obviously tablatures of known Jimmy Hendrix songs so how are those songs there? Editorial? I can't even submit my image as editorial!

Hmmm... I just played those notes and I can't figure it out.   I can't understand the wallpaper rejection above either.

Ever get an answer?

Did you try making your own property release, since the images are your own? I did that for an antique item, stating I was the sole owner, in a property release.

Jimi's Purple Haze ;)

God I haven't played in ages, not since I started photography and stock, I should pick it up again.
m8, tabs are probably protected, don't matter if it's only a lick.

The wallpaper is probably rejected because they think it's a real one so you should mention it is created in PS. Maybe a caption like "digitally generated image of a wallpaper" will do.

Later and good luck to both

Turns out I attached a PR release to those pictures, the tablatures and the wallpaper, and they got refused with the same "trademark" reason. Go figure! I send an email to support asking why but I'm still waiting for some kind of reply.
