Shutterstock has a new logo. I think it's definitely better that the old one

Looks good. It doesn't really fit in with the color scheme of the site though.

I bet it fits nicely as a header on the IPO documents, thought ;)

Seriously, someone finally realized there was enough green branding in microstock! (Deposit Photos, Dreamstime, Fotolia...) Now notice their little favicon almost the same colour as MSG's. Tyler, you trendsetter. (Now you'll have to update the little SS favicons in the signatures :) )

It definitely does! My thinking.

My thoughts exactly.
The front page has changed, with new logo and Search being the most prominent page feature. The light boxes have been scaled down to one etc.

My guess is more things will change at SS besides the logo...
-
Looks good. Glad to see they stuck with the move they made earlier of dropping the lens graphic. It's been a long time since any of these companies just sold photos. Good to see more logos reflect that.

I agree
-
the logo looks great - a nice upgrade.
..
I played the video on their blog page and even though I closed the browser window that repetitious song is still playing.. hmmm.... subliminal messaging??

mine is blurred

The logo is curiously minimalist, but I suppose if you decide on a black and red scheme and an angular, minimalist design and happen to have the initials "SS" you really do need to be very careful what you come up with....
-
I like the color, but the 'viewfinder' does nothing for me
-
I like the color and the design, but at first glance I read shutterstuck. not sure why though.
-
Looks good to me, but I know jack squat about logos and design. Red's a very powerful color though, so that's good.

I agree
You are probably right.
-
Will they change the watermark now then?

Wow! Very nice corporate video too!

Oh good, I thought the icon was broken on my navigation bar, up top. :)

I love their new identity and how it could be unfolded in a variety of creative ways. Finally a great logo after all these years of just mediocre stuff :)

all seems good so far ;)
got feeling that not only the logo changes at SS

It's interesting how istock, fotolia and dreamstime were all busy at cutting our commissions to "stay competitive" but did nothing to rethink themselves. At the same time Shutterstock was working hard at reinventing their brand with the help of the worlds best creative agencies without the need pick in our pockets, all while being the best earner for most of us!
-
Massive improvement

Exactly. This is a branding initiative, not just a logo re-do. There are some cool images in this article (http://www.actulogo.fr/2012/05/shutterstock-shabille-de-rouge/) showing some of the ways that the new brand can be applied in a variety of ways to different things, from workspaces to advertising to t-shirts and more.
Notice how they don't stick with red in all applications.

I do not like it one bit. Messy, lot's of small print. Much fewer nice images. Hard read.
Bad choices. I will bet they will change this over time. :)
Congrats on the IPO however.

The viewfinder branding concept is catchy, congrats shutterst(http://peopleimages.com/images/ai/ex_02.png)ck!

I think it looks great. Clean, simple, catchy. The video is very impressive. An all around great job in my opinion.

Oh! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I like simplicity and clarity. I thought I must just be out of touch with the spirit of the age, but since you are clearly well in touch with it I guess the old rules still have merit.
