Title: Shutterstock on Demand
Post by: vonkara on February 18, 2009, 21:22
Is great LOL !!! I got a couple each month at 1.07$ and 2.48$. It's good to see new prices like that. Not all agencies can have good ideas like that LOL.

My on Demand have made around 8% of my January downloads. Even Increasing each month. I hope it's a good sign, a subscription agency able to innovate. A fresh breeze in the air  :)

I am getting a few a day and it's kept my Shutterstock earnings competitive in the last few months when I've failed to upload much. I've also noticed more ELs recently which might indicate a move to microstock from RM in these difficult economic times. Anyway, it's all good!

Like the Greek philosopher said, panta rhei (everything changes all the time). I got On Demands almost daily this month, and one extended. But suddenly, I only sell only subscription on DT, knocking it down to nr. 4. I think it's all one big conspiracy since Canstock made me an extended but Bigstock came to a halt.

The exclusives on iStock sure miss a lot of cheap thrills  ;D

I'm for the conspiracy theory. I sold more subs than usual at DT also LOL

Hmmmmmmmm... First month in a long time for no OD on SS and I haven't had an EL since May of last year!  Normal dls up from last couple of months though.  DT has plummeted from last month falling about 90% so far. FT holding and StockXpert and 123 RF only bright spots for me so far.

Such is MS.

Phil,

Do you have a large RM presence where you could possibly measure a sales trend moving from RM/macro to micro RF?  I don't, but I've been monitoring the Alamy forums.  It looks like their experiences are similar to ours...a noticeable but not drastic reduction in sales due to the economy, and decreasing exposure (more and more photogs).

It's a conspiracy for sure. All microstock sales have to be approved by a committee that meets at midnight every second weekday in Elbonia. Only the Pope, former American presidents and senior Elbonian citizens are allowed in the committee.

You don't believe me? Send a bottle of fermented goat milk to Elbonia (or to Texas), and see what happens to your sales   ;D

Just shutterstock on demand sales would be in 6th place on my earnings list.

Actually I've noticed a bi jump in enhanced downloads in the last 3 months - my EL sales exceeded on demand last month, and this month they're ahead again. Not a trend I can complain about... keep them coming!

So far all my OD sales were for $1.88. Today I had one for $0.81. Has anyone seen this price before?

There's 2 package sizes, you get less from the larger package sizes.  Your commission will also go up when you reach the next level to 1.07 and 2.47.  (Is that still $500 in sales for the next level?)

Oh man! I thought the $.38 increase was after $5,000 not $10,000. I guess its going to be awhile before I get that one  :'(

Yes, have seen both of these prices before. Different size, that's the explanation.
