Title: Shutterstock passes $150 million in total contributor payments

This does not seem like all that much in 10 years.  I recall at one point Istock claimed it was paying $1.7 million a week (though I’m sure those days are long gone).

Also apparently Turkey is the hot new market

SS didn't open up to outside photographers until Nov 2004 so it is really only 8.5 years. Almost half of the total was probably paid out since 2011. From the financial data they've published I think that they are currently paying out about $3M per month.

Good for them.....However, a number like that does make it painfully clear that I'm at the "peanuts" end of the earnings scale.

The new investors are probably reading about this milestone and thinking "this has to stop.  We need to start diverting some of this money from photographers' pockets to MY pockets.".

Good! I am Turkish and living in Istanbul. Hope I can do something good for Shutterstock and also for me.
Because I really love this company... I can sell sooo many images here... My personal thought: SS is the best of all...

SS has passed 25 million images and 300 million downloads.
