Do whatever the f**k you wanna do. I don't care.

My compliments, you said what I think in far less words and clearly said it better.

It is always worth bringing up because Shutterstock have been very underhand here. It is far from clear what the scheme actually is.

They flat out say they are paying 15% minimum to contributors which is completely untrue.

Why is it completely untrue? Subs aren't included in that 15% minimum. Subs are a flat 10 cents minimum, nothing to do with 15%

Is there somewhere else that they are lying? Or does that resolve the issue?

35 days until the reset, grit your teeth, bite a bullet, take a shot of Whiskey... the pain is coming.

I'm still wondering why almost all my sales there are 0.1...

My guess is cause you kept your images there and enable such abuse.

Please read the initial (only) email from Shutterstock outlining the new pay structure, feel free to post here with the quote they say subs aren't included.

Subs are paid out based on the percentage structure too, calculated in a way that means the percentage they state is a fantasy (percentage based on if buyers use 100% of dls).

Not sure why you are saying they have "nothing to do with 15%" if they are in fact included in the tiers i.e. the fake 15% starting level?

Since you have moved this to one spot, the other thread with the same questions and answers, maybe we can continue there?

Short answer, if a sub value would be under 10c, we get the minimum of 10c of what the customer paid, which is actually over 15%. Not that, I like getting 10c or I'm happy with the new commissions, just that that's the math and why subs aren't always at the level commission. Sometimes they are higher but never lower.

If you go to the other thread, please show me where SS pays LESS than 15% of the price the customer paid?

Which is how I understand what you are saying?

What level are you? This is where the 10c sales come from. Large subscription packs of 350 or 750. Anything in the pink (or salmon?) is where we get a 10c commission.

The reason for the white was, only place where anyone would get more than the old, entry level 25c for a sub. Everything else is less. And considering how easy it was to get to 36c a download, or 38c a download (at $10,000 lifetime sales), of course this represents a substantial cut. In my case I make around 65%% less now, for subs, than before the change.

10c subs are the minimum when the commission would have been less than 10 cents, based on what the customer pays.

Top line, level one, just for an easy to see example. Customer pays .57 an image, and at 15% we'd get, $0.0855 but that's below minimum, so SS pays us the minimum.

If you look down to 750 images with advance billing, the buyer pays .22 an image, at 15% we'd get $.033 per sub download. Instead SS raises that to 10 cents. Which is about 300% of what the buyer paid. That kind of pack, never reaches any of our payment percentages for any level.

My level is ridiculous. I have started now to have constant sales every day. But I used to have bigger sales before all this crap...

I absolutely believe you, as I did too. And more if that's anything related.

I'm just writing about the math of this fiasco. I'm not defending or attacking, just pointing out the numbers and how things actually are.
